Maybe I'm a genius or I understood the prior article. It seemed pretty clear that IBM wasn't interested in making the 32 SPU cell. Which is the successor to the PowerXCell-8i cpu. It never claimed it was a failure, even though a lot of people tried that spin. They are merely stopping development in that sector and switching to a more GPU/CPU approach for further supercomputers.

the tech used in the ps3 has probably be quadrupled by now so of course they are moving away from the tech. but the ell is something specail and should be well looked into before abanconded

As a chip set I think the cell has been reasonably successful, and I expect sony to use a form of the cell for the ps4.

Guys IBM was going to halt development but the Cell is self-aware, it made sure that the top brass at IBM changed their minds

Why don't you guys STOP POSTING FAKE ARTICLES get your resources right, if they stop producing the Cell Processor, then they wouldn't be no PS3 being made.
