Games for Windows magazine editor Jeff Green had already hinted at it, saying "one of PC gaming's oldest franchises, a series with bazillions of fans," was getting a new installment in the franchise, and now the next SimCity is in development over at EA.
The last few months game launches have been horrible. But we have seen alot of bad releases through out the years. Here are five of them.

I had it on PC and it worked 100% from day one. Never had a problem with it, so for me, I had a really positive experience with the game, even though it could still use improvements....the maps.
At least those game were playable unlike BF4..Which no matter what you did something would always happen.
I have been playing BF4 since launch(ps4) and never saw those signifacnt problems, i did lag once ina a while but NEVER anything that would make the game unplayable

I think Grand Theft Auto Online was even worse for me than D3. Still get disconnected and then end up in single player and than have to wait like 5 minutes to get back into multiplayer. Loading is so slow.
GTA was understandable though. It was the fastest selling entertainment product of all time, and they launched the MP 2 weeks after the game was released. In that time, people got their "fix" for the game and was ready to play online. When you have 20+ million people trying to connect to a game in the same day(s), it's expected to not work properly.
I played on PS3 and I believe I was one of the lucky ones. On the 3rd day after GTAO launched, I had no issues at all. Let's just hope the PS4/Xbone launch is much smoother this time around.
Anybody notice that nearly all games are having terrible launches! We need a video-game related Russell Brand so we can wake up and face this travesty head on in a revolutionary format!

Ya BF4 takes the cake on this one. I remember Gears 2 had lots of issues MP wise. BF4 lost alot of players due to the year of issues. Destiny though had a good launch very few issues for the most part.
im gonna have to give it to GTA, Bethesda, but most of all probably DICE.
I have said I will never buy a Rockstar or Bethesda game new ever again....I will however buy the GOTY editions from the bargain bins with all the dlc for free once they FINALLY fix most of the bugs or at least the ones that are going to get fixed.
I would have to say DICE or Ubishit (the MP in their games...AC3 was my final tipping point, but there were many...the infinite animus hack was the straw) though because I have swore I will never buy a game that has their name on the box period. So those are my votes. Absolutely terrible devs that release broken garbage.
Gta single player worked fine, Online when it did come out did have comnectivity issues but was resolved in a few days. Skyrim was spot-free unless you tried to brake shit. Did you even play these games at launch or did you let some troll tell what to buy?
One thing seems unanimous when speaking of this generation of game; the online play and social should now be an integral part of the new offerings of games. Although the concept has benn established for several years, is the technology sufficient to meet the new expectations of today new-gen players?
It became almost commonplace to see video game launches botched by technical problems; the impossibilities to play the game or even see redesigns and deactivations of options. While developers should always deliver the best possible gaming experience, it looks like it's now a matter of making the game work before offering a wider experience.
Diablo 3, SimCity 5 and Battlefield 4 wound't agree (ok 2 of them are from EA which doesn't help)
At this stage of the calendar year, with the transition to new hardware and the current onslaught of software, it’s easy to get swept up in the annual gaming maelstrom. ’Tis the season, after all. Having said that, although this year may not signal the curtain call for the seventh generation of consoles per se — with Dark Souls II et al slated to release in 2014 — 2013 will still go down as a notable twelve months for the industry at large.
SimCity - Was a massive slap to the face to fans and horrible DRM crap ruined the game. It was a step back for the franchise.
dmc - Same as SimCity in some places, was a massive slap to series fans and was a step back for the franchise. It should had never got good reviews because the game wasn't better then DMC4, when you have something to live up to and you fail then you shouldn't be rewarded. I could go on and on about how this game sucks but it's been said before so I won't
Dead Space 3 - Funnily enough ANOTHER game which spat in fans faces by changing the direction of the franchise into something which would appeal to a completely different audience. It's worse because they knew with Capcom how much turning your horror game into an over the top action game would be bad and how many regarded Dead Space as the new horror franchise....yet they still went along and added co-op, the god awful generic soldier grunt of a patner and many other things which made the game bad.
Those games are NOT underrated, some like DS3 and dmc did very well in reviews and in my opinion were at the time very OVER rated.

Interesting... I was a Target Today... and I saw SimCity 4 and asked myself... I would love them to make SimCity 5. wow! I am a big fan. I can imagine how big the cities can be now that computers have so much memory. Also, I wonder if they would make it for the PS3 and the xbox 360.
I always had trouble with the electricity... the original sim city was my favourite (no power lines)
Sim City 2000 ftw. greatest game ever. no need for micromanagement for everything, just pure city planning. hopefully 5 can make it fun again
