and for the answer you want. come next year i hope GT5 can play JAY-Z while i am playing there game. and have cross chat so i can talk to my buddies while they are playing GOW3. if not whats the use of PSN being free when you don't have basic features. all that tech in the PS3 and these firmware updates cant do this pitiful. and i know Sony can do this because they have laptops in their inventory. and for blu-ray overrated unless you have a 1080p lcd or whatever. i have two 360 and a ps3 no games just yet (uncharted, kill zone, and uncharted 2 is nothing played them and sent them back to game-fly)after that put my PS3 back in the box and back in the closet it went. i want FF13, GT5, GOW3 that's it. and on paying for xbox live $50 do not hurt my pockets. i spend that and a lot more every Saturday and Sunday watching the game with my buddies. at least when i buy live i have something to show. AND FOR YOU A$$CLOWNS ON HERE PSN is free yes it is but most my buddies like listening to music while playing their game.

Ive had less problems with PSN than XBL. Pretty much all connection/lag issues have been on XBL for me. Live is still a good service, although i feel its getting a little overcrowded with all the services available.
Anyway both services are good, but PSN being free and reliable, well you can't beat that

I could give a rats rear end about Facebook and Twitter, but Last FM and One vs 100 are worth the price of admission to me.
Especially One vs 100. Im looking forward to the next live show.

Everytime I have $40 - $50 dollars that is available, I use it to buy games, and trust me there's more games than my money can handle and I can't even get all of the PS3 exclusives I WANT, I'm even desperately trying to save up for a $10 PSN card. Seriously, it's THAT bad.

Psn is slow as hell. Matchmaking sucks for every gameo n their compared to xbox. I just ot a ps3 for uncharted 2 and killzone 2 and mag but comparing the online is not even close everythign the ps3 does the 350 does better when it comes to online.

PSN has great download speeds. The only exception is mass trafic for new firmware and even 3.00 downloaded in ligit 9 seconds.

PSN the online is to remain free of charge. FREE. I can play online with any game for any reason that has online functionality provided I already have an internet connection. PSN Premium hasn't even been officially detailed yet. They can do tons of stuff with it and make it considerably cheaper than XBL. 20 a year is reasonable for a premium service that gives you extra features. 50 a year, not a chance. Thats the price of a new game for me (I work at Best Buy).

The longevity of PS3 will be longer than PS2 for the simple fact over the years its going to be a BLU-Ray player for years as the technology was JUST released. Not only that the PS3 games will also sell over those years. Parents who have a PS3 for BLURAY only when their kids get older what do you think is going to happen? They're going to buy PS3 games giving longer legs to the system. The price drop for the PS3 means its more easily accessible and its showin what the system of choice is for the consumer since the drop. While Microsoft concentrates on 3rd party devs because all their internal studios get closed within 3 years of Microsoft aquiring them. Don't believe me? Check out Microsofts internal studios and their history. Bungie and Turn 10 are the exceptions lately and by the looks of it RARE wont last much longer if they keep canceling games. Consumers want a PS3 more than the XBOX360. Its hard to swallow being an Xbox fan i'm sure but you're going to have to face reality. Also, keep believing multi-platforms are 360 exclusive.

omg ms/sony should stop with the social crap....i mean rly....are we getting to the point that if i dont tweet/update status every minute, then i should end my life....are we really craving that much attention that we MUST let all of our 500 facebook "friends" that we unlocked x or y achievement/trophy...bringing the social aspect to the console is just a gimmick...concentrate on games please...thats why i got a gaming console....not a socializing console....

but i prefer single player games. doesnt mean that i dont enjoy playing online with my buds, but the ratio is like 75/25 in favor of single player. thats the beauty of psn in my opinion, is i can jump online with friends and play when i feel like it at no extra cost. the features of xblive are awesome, no doubt, but i dont play online enough to justify the price tag. kinda throws the whole xbl>psn arguement right out the window for me. i dont need my friends to validate my gaming experience.

Why so much hate, the only thing i ever hated about the 360 was the hardware breaking down.

My gf has since bought me an elite 360 and i'm enjoying it, my 5yrold loves banjo nuts and bolts. You can stream through the cat5 cable etc. or use wireless, but i'm not paying £60 for a wireless adapter when the real amount to make them is £10.

But i got to say, the PS3 streams faster and is able to run more content. well the films i have, some don't play on the 360 even with the update.

Live is nicely setup, and is quick and well setup, downloads are pretty quick. Smoothly done. But has been around longer.

I guess the PS3 is playing catchup alittle in the online part. But it's all coming together. and is pretty fine for a free service.

But for games it's subjective.

Most games are multiplat these days.

Truthfully all i want for the PS3 is a2dp

well you probably use your tv for the family whoop the do! but me 1080p is noyhing new in my house. my gaming tv AND I DID SAY GAMING TV is a (Samsung 65" Class 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV) is used just for gaming nothing else. and on ff13 and gow3 it also depends what i am doin and who is playing, and you also forgot GT5 need in custom music not in game.

now you ps3 exclusives, the way sony is spacing out there exclusives you should not have no reason to gather money. you must be in college i can understand that but if you not get off your parents couch and get as job. and since 95% your games is single-player based you shouldnt even be mentioning anything about online.

now you Mr.bestbuy you dont get discounts you are lame for that one. and you say consumers want a ps3 more than a 360 could me true. but you are a idoit here me out you work for a retail store. would it make more sense in you perspective to help get rid of 360's too. maybe then you would move up the ladder where you work and be able to buy xbox live. and on graphics and compression who cares getting up to replace a disc do not kill me.

For saving me some money by putting out such a crappy console.

I typically try to avoid articles like these because the xbox vs ps3 thing is getting really old, but for the ps3 owners asking and 360 owners not willing to answer I'll do it for you as a former primary 360 gamer.

One thing and one thing only separates xbl from psn. The community or should I say the ease of connectivity to the community. the numbers are speculation but I'd guesstimate about 98% of the xbl user base on xbl is connected via headsets on MP games where the ps3 80% is connected. 3 years later and not a single person with a ps3 can sit here and say they have played ANY game on psn where everyone in the game has had a connected headset while that could very well be the case on xbl. Cross game chat is nice for certain games but for others it ruins the xbl experience imo. but the fact that xbl has most gamers connected vocally it makes a big difference.

now some ps3 oweners may bring up racism and vulgar language of xbl and that may be true but ps3 owners are just as vulgar and racist online but because every ps3 gamer is not connected via headset it is not as bad and maybe even if every ps3 gamer had a headset I don't think psn would be as bad as xbl just my opinion, but the knuckle heads have a stage in which to spew there foolishness and they do so. It comes with any entertainment outlet imo.

Now does that justify the 39.99 usd price tag of xbl, absolutely not but that is was what makes xbl a better service to many gamers.

The day sony starts bundling a bluetooth headset with each console we'll see a already shrinking gap shrink even further, but as far as features go which is the better service is negligible at best. Most of my friends are on psn. All of us have headsets. All of us are 25 and older making PSN the better service for me because I'm connected with my friends, all of my friends and because we can actually talk in game and stay connected makes a world of difference.

There is a lot of whining from both sides in here. Live is an awesome service you pay for it if you want to if not then don pay for it. PSN is also an awesome service and its free, Live has a couple of more features but PSN is free so who could complain.

Thank you M$ for gimping all the multiplat games with your antique DVD format. Anytime any of you wonder why games like MW2 are so short look no further than the 360.
