Yesterday, Microsoft beat Sony to the punch and launched an update packing Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm, and a Zune video store, and today, IGN is here to give you some perspective on these changes from a Sony-entrenched player.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

The name "Hewson" carries a special weight for anyone who grew up during the golden age of British computing. Greg Miller is ok in my book, so if he say it was a good update then i guess......
What an idiot.
Facebook, twitter, etc. All have been available since November 2006 on every single PS3 for free with the standard webbrowser.
I guess this is how retarded you have to reach for some sort of 'good news' for Microsoft and the Xbox 360.
clap clap clap? yay for xbox360 getting twitter/facebook/Last fm?
I am ok with consoles being multimedia devices but i just don't see the point of these apps. But hey that's just me not using any of these social sites.More content over these Apps please.

Yea, but its proly a lot easier to use in this update as opposed to the PS3's interface. Anyone whose tried using Facebook on PS3 knows how time consuming it is to write a message. Most of the time my inbox doesn't even load up. Sony would be making a smart move if they bring Mozilla into the equation.
Either way, Facebook is ALWAYS best on a PC
Competition is good. I just wish MS would respond to Sony's game as well and as much as Sony matches MS.
Good article and I have to agree that just because you say a negative about a system you don't "favor" doesn't automatically make you a fanboy. I've seen many gamers on here that can criticize both systems flaws and do it in a non-fanboy way.
