MGU: C64 (iPhone) Review

MGU writes: "The Commodore 64 was one of the pioneers in what is now one of the biggest industries in the world. It entered our lives ever so quietly and played a pivotal role in the evolution of gaming. When you look back, you might think to yourself, 'how on earth did I manage to enjoy those games?', especially when you look to the collection you have mustered over the past few years. Well the fact of the matter is that if it weren't for these games, we would not be playing many of the ones we are currently enjoying and for that reason alone they will always have a special part in our hearts.

Now we have the opportunity to take a walk down nostalgia road with the (re)release of the Commodore 64 app on the iPhone and iPod touch. It features a number of classics that we will all remember playing at one point or another (those of us who are old enough to remember anyway). The app is in essence a mini Commodore 64 with the traditional single button and joystick to add to the old school feel. This is evident from the very beginning of the game when you have to flick a the on/off switch on screen to power up your virtual console. Each title is controlled by using the joystick with your right thumb and the button with your left. The games are displayed in all their former glory and have not been updated whatsoever in order to retain the charm that oozes from each and every one of them. The basic controls and lack of options, although frustrating at times, are in keeping with the memories our brain has retained throughout the years. The view you have is also very in keeping with the retro theme. For each game, you see a Commodore 64 screen and the controls on a desk in front of it (a common set-up at the time). But if you do not feel comfortable with this perspective (or your eyes simply aren't as good as they were back in the day) you can turn your device sideways for a bigger display format, in which the controls appear when you touch the relevant side of the screen."

Probably down to the high cost of gaming. Controllers and racing wheels can cost as much as consoles.

This is why there will always be competition in gaming. The possibilities to make huge profits is just too enticing.

Pokémon Go Championship Winner Title Revoked for ‘Unsportsmanlike Conduct’

The winner of the Pokémon Go Championship grand finals in Orlando was stripped of their title, allegedly for 'unsportsmanlike conduct' during their victory celebration. The celebration involved the winner removing their headset, standing up, and pumping their fists before shaking hands with their opponent. Many believe the ruling was excessive and that winner's victory celebration was tame compared to celebrations by winners in other competitive games.

There are people that get offended seeing others just enjoying a moment, or enjoying a hobby, or just having fun.

Can someone explain to me what is so problematic with this? I watched video multiple times and all I see dude having bit of celebration. None of his actions felt aggressive or seem like they symbolize anything... Like winning sure deserves bit of celebration like that. I mean who wants to live in the world where you aren't allowed to be excited or have bit of burst of happiness when you win? Like was he supposed to act like emotionless robot? He should be allowed to have bit of his victory "hell yeah" moment, even if it is before shaking hands with opponent. Like it is not like he didn't shake hands or whatnot. And it is not like he is like some super serious government official to have to stick to protocol to a letter. This whole thing is just ridiculous.
