Not a bad month for anybody. Nintendo is cruising peacefully. Sony is making a push, and Microsoft has a vested interest in the biggest franchise of this year. All in all, I can't say anybody is really struggling. It seems to me all three major companies are refraining from releasing any major surprises until they absolutely need to.

The Wii price drop made some impact.

I want to say that as much as the Wii sells, the only reason it's touted against the HD consoles is its release date. The Wii success is irrelevant to HD gaming.

Well Saaking, what is Microsoft's install base? It's big enough to lead the industry in total sales revenue pretty much every month. The PS3 is closing in, but it isn't there yet.

I think that next month, MS will creep back infront, just because of all the banning of modders they've done over the past month.

Over 1 million banned. Even if 50% of those buy another console, that should be enough to push it back in front.

of course the install base isn't as big ask any pirate. They will no doubt be on their 3rd BOUGHT console as they obviously can't send them back to MS for repair can they? Once they get banned they buy another console. Why you think MS always brings out the ban-hammer before a major games release? Coincidence?

Also people have to realize these are NPD numbers which are only America where MS gets there strongest sales this doesn't include Europe and Japan where Sony always do better than MS anyways. So double points for Sony.

My theory is that the xbox360 install base doesn't really get games they want throughout the whole entire year, so when a game like MW2 comes out the 360 install base are force to buy this game.

I like my 360 and Wii but PS3 will be the best for me. I'm glad Sony is doing better in the sales department. They came out with a video game console that also plays 1080P Blu-ray movies and sold it at a loss just so they could get it into peoples hands. You have to admire them for that and every game is put on Blu-ray so they can do more things with it.

I have never regretted buying a PS3 and I never will. One of the best things I spent my money on next to my custom built PC and my 52 inch Sony Bravia 120 hz TV.

I have to agree that the ps3 is the best console platform in most ways, but I disagree that it is the best for playing games - ONLY because microsoft bought out all the multiplats and they had to be made inferior to run on both systems, therefore not allowing the ps3 to use it's awesome for titles like gta4, tekken 6 and ff13 which would be FAR better if only on the ps3 :(, in that respect I kept my 360 (bought for me, I wouldn't do that) - I wasn't planning on getting any console in this gen.

But, I stand by the fact that a PC is by many miles the superior platform for everything. OK, it has to be said that most people are ripped off by computer retailers (and someone has to stop that NOW), if you build one yourself or have a friend build it, an impressive rig will cost you around £700, and run all games (not gta4 lol) better than the consoles - plus doing all the stuff a PC does anyway.
Consider most people own a computer to do general tasks and lightweight gaming - perhaps this machine set them back £700 (rip-off retailer "gaming rig"), the difference in cost between that and a beastly rig is probably only around £250 (if built) - that is less than the cost of a console and it's accessories, not only that but it runs many games better. PC gaming should be in the lead, but the retards high up in the respective industies are making sure it stays down so they can keep their profits.

The 360 has stopped selling at all. They weren't far behind Sony even with the slim out in the wild and UC2 tearing up the charts

thats what im talking about MS is still selling 360s like if they were the number one sellers. 300$ and it has no wifi ,bluray ,free online? thats why i want the ps3 to outsell it, stingy ass M$ will lower the price of elites down to 200$ once sony starts kicking their asses. M$ havent lowered their prices to what they should be because its been outselling the ps3 almost all year.

360 is more expensive than the ps3 when you include the cost of accessories and xbox live, I check this comparison every month or so. Almost always the ps3 comes out about £80 cheaper for 1 year. Not only that but the ps3 and its accessories are less likely to break.

month the 360 will have better numbers then the ps3, and before you guys go on to condemn me here, hear me out. call of duty modern warfare 2 will be the reason why.

why? because ms was smart enough to create a bundle with this game in mind, and with all the hype and controversy now switching to this game, you can bet their numbers will be a lot better than the competitions.

the sales speak for themselves, however come in December the tide will shift towards the ps3 again, why? well atleast in japan come December 17th, one game comes to mind for that worldwide difference, final fantasy 13.

now im no analyst here, and im a big Sony supporter so in a sense i hope im wrong about Novembers numbers.

off topic- i do see god of war 3 being greatly advertise and doing monstrous numbers in march, with granturismo 5 launching that same month in japan and elsewhere in may. and judging from prologues success i say sony's bound for another solid year next year.

the last guardian, new syphon filter and twisted metal all in the works, still getaway 3 is still pending, killzone 3 and resistance 3 all due next year and 2011 respectively.

i doubt the MW2 bundle is gonna make that much of a diffrence 1st of all most people who are buying MW2 already own MW1 so naturaly they already own either a ps3 or a 360 also, 2nd 95% of MW2 is online its a multiplayer game and anyone that remotley plays games will know about this ,does the bundle come with a free XBL subscription? so if someones gonna buy a new console to play MW2 chances are he might swing towards the ps3. i mean MW2 on the 360 offers the same features as the ps3 version doesnt it ?

lol Don't tell me you're one of those heart broken by reality check(or in this case personal opinion). Heck i don't like ms, yes i do own a 360 and im the only one out of my friends who has thus far boycotted the call of duty hype train.

However like i said im no annalist but it doesn't take a genius or rocket scientist to see this from a mile away.
(never made mention of the ps3 getting outsold by the 360 in October check my track record, i mean everyone knows that @299 with some pretty good exclusives available for it also being a bluray player @ that? the ps3 is the best value for your money @ this current time duh..)

Only a blind person would be in denial, i mean i did mentioned final fantasy 13 in japan which also happens to be included in a bundle just like call of duty modern warfare 2 in u.s, final fantasy 13 will have a big impact on console sales in japan (where its exclusive to that specific(ps3)platform) believe that.

And lol please you don't need to tell me the ps3 is here to stay, without it how would the industry look? competition is the fuel/forced creativity and productivity is what this business runs on and trust me everyone here knows that.

But it seems you feel hurt by people trying so hard to make predictions, im sorry you feel that way. but its just my two cents on the matter and i feel that by you reacting this way, you're trying to strip me from that privileged. just saying.

Jsut like to add that at the age of 18 you're an adult (so it use to be) but in today's time the maturity of an 18 year old doesn't seem to be there any more due to the mass corruption of TV, school systems and many other deceptions that keep us child like in our minds rather than growing up (eventually maturing at a later age).

100's of years ago there were rulers at the age of 18 EIGHTEEN!!

Today the Governments have worked out how to prolong our maturity something we should hit at the age of 15 but they have brainwashed us in to thinking that and 18 year old is a small child which is why I find it funny when a 30 year old American man (for example) calls a 18 year old 'adult' a kid.

It's all about keeping us under control and that also means mentally.

look at all the stores, now offering at least a 10 buck gift card to buy these new games....TRU and BB, the last releases had perks like this.
GameStop is taking it on the chin...I used to be able to get games there 1 day before the big stores..so didnt mind paying full price for an online game, NOW....I am buying at BB, TRU for the perks...

I too believe that Microsoft has not sold as many 360s as it claims to have done. Many game developers have claimed to have sold more copies of their titles on the PS3 in the past year and a half. EA, Konami, Capcom, and some others. Most major multi-plat titles like GTA 4 and COD4 have more or less around equal amounts on both platforms. I think Microsoft are doing some shady moves.

these million user now cannot play MW2 online and probably already bought the game. so now they will be forced to buy another 360

this is how MS will have better numbers or equal numbers to the PS3.

PS3 is beating MS in sales? hmm what could that mean..oh is it because most of the install base of MS are RROD owners buying the console again. so the sales of software would really stay the same as PS3 install base is actual new people buying the software.
