I think Apple already made some kind of desktop prototype a couple of years ago that had about the same functions as this table. In my own opinion this product is useless. It's a gimmick. Why would people want to have to move their arms around while moving stuff instead of just using a mouse? Talk about getting neck and shoulder pains.

if the high running temperature of the xbox360 is anything to go by i reckon this device could double up as a sun tanning machine.. i bet it will come with a free pair of uv goggles

Hunched over and lets think for a moment. The place that you see these people using this thing seems to be the living room or someplace rather friendly. It's got a couch and everything! So are we to replace our real coffee tables with this thing and not be able to use the table as a table?!

The developer of this iteration of the technology works for Microsoft now.
So in reality, the technology you see on Apple products is either different, or stolen from MS.
Even in that "Apple" video someone posted from Google Video, you can see Jeff Han's name in the corner.

Just two years ago, a 45" LCD cost $10K. Today it costs $2,500. With the 65"'s costing $10K, and all you can do is look at it! From my point of view this tech is pretty cheap for what it aims to do. My only question is when this tech will converge with enough others to make it even sexier! Like the whole thing biend and OLED screen, just millimeters thick, with pc moniter resolutions, and a single connection to a tower with 2 tereabytes of storage. Last but not least, a wall mount theta alowed for it to be used vertically on a wall as a TV, or horizontally as a table pc! Oh, and bring on the dual CPU, Eight core processors. This thing Would rewuire major co-op amongst many companies to go mainstream.
