TeamXbox writes: "Founded in 2006, OneBigGame is an effort on the part of some game-making veterans to utilize the industry's talents and give back to the community at large. This not-for-profit charity had a simple idea: get a few of the biggest and most famous game developers out there to donate some of their time and efforts to create games pro bono (that means "for free"), the proceeds from which would go towards a host of charities including Save The Children and the Starlight Children's Foundation. Taking a page from other entertainment industries, OneBigGame's founders likes to see themselves as something similar to the LiveAID of games: artists coming together for a cause."
