One of the minor tragedies of gaming history was the collective dismissal of the Nintendo Gamecube. It was a "toy" rather than a machine worthy of "mature" gamers' time, a comment rooted in ignorance that rang completely hollow. Whatever its faults, the Gamecube was perfectly capable of delivering quality entertainment for adults (as well as kids).
Case in point: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, an outstanding survival horror title that landed with a resounding thud despite being published by Nintendo of America.

Spooky season is here again at last and time of the horror game has arrived alongside it. This year has seen the return of some the genre's greatest entires, but both tended to focus more on thrills than they did chills. So, those wanting a bit more of the latter this month would do well to check out at least one of these before Halloween rolls around.
An Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem remaster would certainly "resonate with fans," according to director Denis Dyack.
I have been asking for a remake for Nintendo's next console launch. The sanity system was a very nice touch.
This game wouldn’t work with a simple remaster. I think the sanity system needs a full reboot or remake. I think using the console technology, haptic controls, and mimicking other apps would be real cool.

Even not being an owner of a current Nintendo console, I for one would love to see this. Preferably a remake, though.

Anyway Eternal Darkness rocks and I hope Silicon Knights make a new one, whether for the Wii or the HD systems(mostly likely the 360).
