there is only one way the Ps3 and 360 will outsell the LTD sales of the Wii, and that is if Nintendo stopped the production of the Wii early next year, which is very unlikely, remember it took like 5 or 6 years before nintendo stopped the production of the gamecube and that console sold less than 30M units.

They might reconsider making the Wii 2. The fad is over and it will not have the novelty of motion sensing to boost sales this time. Besides, the casual portion of the Wii owners are not the kind of people who buy a console every gen

Well... There have been no wii games for a while but 2010 seems to be a bit better. Still, I'm glad the PS3 is picking up pace.

The Wii can sell another 20 million before its life cycle ends. It's still very successful, but the thing is that Nintendo chose a large demographic this time around. If they want to keep these casual people, then their next console will have to be of the same mold. I don't imagine them abandoning the casual cash cow in favor of a powerful console with violent shooter games.

You have to pretty ignorant to think that the Wii has been dethroned. The lead is too much for either Sony or MS to catch up anytime soon.

Nintendo has been exceptionally profitable this gen and surely can use all of that cash to keep the wii cash cow going.

Perhaps making more first party games? Maybe more marketing? More R&D to improve upon the Wii or extend its life? Joint marketing with third partys software publishers? Do we not learn from experience? Many of you wrote off the Wii before launch, oblivious to the reasons that made it a contender. Now you are doing it again?

20+ billion in life to date profits gives them plenty of options with out worrying about shareholder backlash (umm that is why you guys need to care if you favorite gaming company hemorrhages money for too long)

I will be picking up a Wii around Black Friday. And that 199.00 price as well as an extensive catalog of games makes now the right time to jump in.

If the Wii bubble burst, the HD consoles must not have even had bubbles blown..Seeing as how Wii is still outselling both HD systems on a weekly basis and has a 25m console lead atm...and is the only console company profitable this gen..and not just profitable MASSIVELY profitable.

Even if the Wii bubble ends.....that was a long period of profit of course i still hate nintendo for what they have become this generation, it doesnt have the games i want anymore.

Coming from a diehard PS3 owner I got to admit Metroid Prime Trilogy is the Ish!!! I love that game.

I'm really happy for Nintendo and their success with the Wii, but I despise the tactic they used to get there. They sacrificed the "hardcore" experience in gaming and made it an industry that tries to cater to the casual.

It's sad to see that this looked like the only way they could be successful at this point. It was a cheap move, not for their competitors, but for us. Because of casual invasion, my games are hardly ever challenging. Sure it can bring new friends, but none that I can honestly have a deep conversation about games with.

I JUST WISHED THAT YOU WERE GIVEN AN OPTION FOR THE WII MOTE. It's fun playing with it, I just would like to turn it off, and use a controller for Mario Galaxy. I will get one this holiday season though.....it's worth $199. (Punch out, Tiger Woods Golf, Wii Resort, Wii sports, and Madworld, are all great.)

I hadn't touched it in months and The Conduit was not exquisite. I had a very good time with the Wii, but I feel like the availability of "awesome" games had been muddled by the magnitude of crappy ones. It was a very difficult decision to make, selling the Wii. I sort of feel like I'm abandoning Nintendo. Nintendo never should have stopped stamping their Seal of Quality on games. I mean, Spy Games: Elevator Mission? Come on, games that lousy should never see the light of day. I am disenchanted with Nintendo.

You are trying too hard to convince experienced gamers that there is something other than Mario and Zelda on the wii which is worth giving a glance at. Neither reviews nor sales nor name nor anything favors your fanboyish opinion. The games Musashi mentions, well... You'd have to be delusional to be comparing them to any of the games I just mentioned in terms of production values, gameplay complexity, community features, online modes, home spaces, achievements/trophies, DLC, etc. And again, neither reviews nor sales nor anything favors these sad games, but whatever floats your boat. It must be easier to deny reality than to admit the wii is disappointing in some aspects. I bought a Wii for Mario galaxy and paper Mario (Zelda TP on gamecube), and bought a few games to play with my casual friends but that's it.

Also LOL @ the guy that says seferoth is not a fanboy. Seferoth says PS3/PC/360 are only for mindless shooters. His problem is not just ignorance, he looks for trouble and has a really bad memory. A few months ago, he got raped by a guy in username "ZuperAmazingCookie" or something like that. Just because Wii dose not have 1 million shooter games dose not mean the bubble has burst. Besides the PS3 exclusives and a couple of 3rd party titles (SFIV,Tekken,RE,Blazblue etc.) PS3 is an okay console.

Wii has very challenging and addictive games and eventhough most gamers need blood and guts and cursing. Wii has the best platformers (SMG), the best party games (WiiSports), the best adventure games(LoZ:TP,Prime 3).

No console can be successful without 3rd party developers getting onboard to make games for it. Nintendo has made some good games for Wii, but they can't carry the whole burden of game-making alone. Other 3rd party developers should have joined in to come up with cool ways to exploit Wii's motion controls.

For instance, Nintendo's Wii Boxing was really fun to play, and everybody who bought a Wii spent a good amount of time throwing punches with this fun game. So how come not even one 3rd party developer tried to imitate the successful fresh gameplay dynamics of Wii Boxing, with a game of their own? I'm not saying it would have to be a sports style boxing game - it could have been a superhero game where you're punching supervillains, or rampaging around punching down walls. Or maybe a game where you could box against other opponents on the internet.

Wii Fit had some really fun new types of games like Wii Jogging, where you could run down a jogging trail by jogging on the spot in your living room. How come not even one 3rd party developer came out with even just one game that lets you run around a game level by using the same jogging motion, while you hunt badguys? Or how about being able to use the Wii Balance Board for duck-and-reload, like in Time Crisis or Keisatsukan Police 911? Not even one 3rd party developer did this.

Wii Sports Resort featured Motionplus tech, which allowed you to try out cool swordfighting gameplay. How come not even one 3rd party developer exploited that, to come out with a fantasy game allowing you to be a swordfighting hero? (Well, there's Ubisoft's Red Steel 2, but they're the only one). Another fun Motionplus game in Sports Resort was shooting hoops in basketball. How come not even one 3rd party developer has tried to use this to allow you to toss grenades with precise control over your throwing motion? Or maybe throw a tomahawk, or an axe, or a boomerang - or even a Tron Deadly Disc.

Even if Nintendo is good at making motion-controlled games for Wii, the problem is that 3rd party developers didn't do a damn thing to really go after motion control like Nintendo's games did. The 3rd party developers are just too lazy to try and think differently. They're used to just sitting back and letting the console hardware do all the work for them by pumping out lots of graphics. They just wanted to do the same old thing of coming out with higher-poly models and hi-res textures to put on them. They didn't want to have to use their brains in a new way, to figure out how to exploit motion control.

Hah, if Nintendo releases a new console with even better graphics than 360 and PS3, even while MS and Sony come out with their motion controls, then you know that the lazy game developer community will go rushing back to Nintendo, because all they know how to do is exploit graphics capabilities of consoles, and are too lazy to venture into the fresh world of motion control.

Everyone has played a game be it cards , checkers ,dominoes whatever.Your grandma is a gamer. I don't quite get where this notion of hardcore gamer comes from, as if it is a whole different group of people. My dad is a hardcore gamer- his game is chess. My mom is a hardcore gamer- her game is bingo. As if you are part of some special group. It's all entertainment- quit with the elitist ,my stuff don't stink attitude. The wii has not taken anything away,well except SONY'S dominance(it hurts , don't it)lol. Nintendo took a gamble and payed off big for them. If you don't like the wii- that is fine. Get yourself a ps3 or xbox 360. To look down your nose at other gamers or other peoples choice in hardware is asinine and makes you look like a douche bad- an insecure douche bag- It is a big pool and I think everyone should be able to swim.

like 360 & the PS3 aren't trying now? its like people forgot about their motion control stuff too. can't wait for these "hardcore" gamers to play 360 sports, or ps3 music. you know the devs are going to take a poop on the motion controls like they did with the wii and want $60 a pop for them too. its only matter of time, before natal is a fad or the PS3 motion controls are a fad. and with new blood on the scene, hopefully, these games will leave the wii.

The Wii's sales are OF COURSE going to be lower. It's been out for quite a few years, and its price wasn't prohibitively high like the PS3's had been. It's still seems to be doing quite well, though:

Plus, look at the upcoming slate of games: NSMB, FF:CC, Silent Hill, COD4 port, RS2, NMH2, Tri, S&P2, Galaxy 2, Other M, Gladiator A.D., Grinder...and maybe Retro's secret project. That's just the stuff we know about it. And there's always the next Zelda.

We're probably in the golden age of Wii games right now; the best third-party games are finally coming out, and Nintendo's own big franchises are being reloaded.
