These sites can only fellate the 360 for so long before public awareness catches up and people start wondering wtf they are talking about.

The PS3 started out strong with releases like Resistance FOM and that one game with the chick and swords that I can't for the life of me remember and too lazy to Google it atm. Sony just hasn't done anything to put shame on the PS3, no critical hardware failures, no nothing. With MS, the 360 started strong but steadily declined due to the RRoD which happened to my third XBox for the 5th time last week. Sure MS can throw one hell of a hype fest but only sometimes does the hype turn out good. (Halo 3 IE)

PS3 has many games with hype and those deliver too, mor often than not it always exceeds expectations. Sony isn't showing signs of slowing down and they have always had good stuff.

BTW I don't have a PS3. I have had a 360 since day one and slowly coming to the darkside. Good thing the darkside has wi-fi, bluetooth, my favorite controller of all time (PS2 FTW), internet browsing (which also means Facebook and Twitter) soon to have Netflix, soon to have the new voice features, and most importantly to me, Metal Gear Franchise.

I was wondering if any of you guys could recommend me some PS3 games to catch up when I get a PS3 in a few weeks. MGS4 is a dead cert because I've heard (and read) some pretty amazing things about it over the years. Long cut-scenes don't bother me - I love all that "plot/talky" stuff anyway. As a Batman fan, I'm definitely getting Arkham Asylum on PS3 because of the additional Joker levels, etc.

Now if only you guys could recommend me some great games for the PS3. A few choices from leftfield wouldn't go amiss, too. BTW, I don't like First-Person Shooters so none of those please. Thanks.

One time the fanboys say its the 360 and that its dead cause its so cheap (only 199 usd)

and when they talk about wireless lan, online costs they mention the 360 as the most expensiv console. Fanboys really are stupid.

Overall we can say that the PS3 is right now the cheapest console with a great games libary. Also the year 2010 promises some great line ups for both consoles. As a gamer you just have to choose.. Alan Wake or Heavy Rain? Splinter Cell or God of War?? MAG or MAss Effect??

And please stop the foolish talking about that 360 exclusives are not really exclusives. Sales show that there is nearly no interest in the PC gaming industry. Also in my opinion trophys and achievments are the way what makes games playing againg and again.

Both systems are great. The only thing i dont like in the PS3 is the slowly working OS. I think i will wait until summer 2010 before i buy a PS3 SLIM, cause ppl complain about overheating problems and that the blu ray laser is not that good like in the modells before.

is not really a comeback, they are just going from competing to dominating the world of gaming. They dominated my gaming world with the PS3, PSP and PS2, and i think the PS brand has worked extremely hard for their success and they deserve it, and we the PS gamers get the benefits of a strong PS division

I can see why someone would call it comeback, however, if you look at SONY's history of their previous 2 systems, you can tell it is normal for them, not a come back

not even written by a real game journalist, not that it lacks anything in content too badly. I happen to be in the middle of trading in to Amazon most of my gaming collection from xbox360. The only two games I want to keep are Mass Effect and NBA 2k10. That's it! My ps3 has taken over my life, just like my ps2, and couldn't be happier with it. Sony is going full steam ahead, with a xbox360 tied to the railroad tracks.

Somehow, the COMPLETE sales figures for the PS1, ps2, ps3, psp, and psp go, was never tallied. People look at the 360 and try to ignore the number of sales for the 1st Xbox. Match ALL of MS games division vs. Sony...and tell me what you get. You see...VG Charts, Michael Patcher, and other haters get amnesia when it comes down to this! AND NOW, look at the PS3 price! they always always had better games, which is why MS used their pocket book to get into the game. Sony came out the "blocks" slow with the PS2...and look how that turned out. With all the hating on the PS2 and DVD drive....funny how MS added one right? (Of course, for a sensor/remote price....because MS loves to rip people off!) HEY, IF MORONS CONTINUE TO SUPPORT IT, WHY CHANGE YOUR WAYS. (LOL)

And I've been here from the start. God it was painful at first but we pulled through and are now reaping the rewards.

I think Sony finally got a clue as to pricing, advertising, and making their online experience click. I'd call it a very welcome progression as opposed to a comeback. They've had the games, and a slick system. Now they have a slick price and better online experience to boot.

Doesn't matter what people say about Sony, they have been on top this whole year. Connivently, N4G, NPD, VG Charts, IGN, and others have used mind tricks and slanted stats to prove that Sony was dead. However, look at the Games divisional sales for the ENTIRE playstaion brand. It is higher than MS and Nintendo.

These guys/girls have been selling PSP's (55+ million) PS1 (30+ million) PS2 (60+ million) and PS3 (26+ million) BUT SOME HOW THEY NEEDED TO MAKE A COMEBACK! (LOL) I know I will lose bubbles and get banned for spreading the truth....so be it! With all this hating, I know what it feels like to be a NY Yankee fan. (People hate it when you are the best in the world at what you do!) Xbox 360 and Wii are good...they just are not as good as Sony....so deal with it people!!

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
