I prefer Video games mainly cause I dont want to have to worry about will my computer run this game, my last PC I was spending alot of money into it just to play games and I realize that there just as good if not better on Consoles my last PC cost 500 bucks but after upgrades to Video games i think i spent over 600.

Only oldschool gaming is dying.

No more party games, no more good 4 player FPS games for sleepovers (stuff like Goldeneye or Timesplitters with remote mines, etc...), no more dominating RTS game for LAN parties (Starcraft for the last 10 years is getting old), etc...

Now gaming is focusing on MMOs and online games. So if you want to play with friends, you must send them back home.

I hope it does, more games for console only gamers like myself. I like PC games I just don't like PCs or playing with a keyboard and mouse.

PC gaming is not gonna die, but thanks to Piracy it will shrink the games line-up

PC gaming never dies it just stagnates from time to time and then blows up again, its a natural process.

I've been playing PC games for as long as I can remember. Almost every day I log into Steam, chat with my clan and other clan members, and sometimes join groups to play with. There is no shortage of people playing PC games online. I have the hardware to back up pretty much any game, even Crysis but on moderate settings. My nVidia 9800GT is slowly but surely getting older and nVidia is releasing new ones soon.

When games come out for multiplatform, the PC usually recieves the delays. But the final product is well worth waiting for in most cases.
For FPS, you get about a bajillion times better accuracy with a mouse/keyboard than you do with a thumbstick.

If you're anyone who has ever played an MMO then you know the sheer amount of people coming into the servers every day. Even smaller MMOs such as D&D Online while not being as popular as say, World of Warcraft or Guild Wars (a personal favorite) they still manage to flood servers every once in a while. There are just a lot of quality games for PC. Some of the greatest console franchises even started out as computer games. (Battlefield, Call of Duty, Halo)
It's because the PC is more powerful than any console right now. If you play PC games you're GOING to drop $600 on a new graphics card if it means boosting the FPS up to 250 (btw it looks beautiful at that number)
PC games will and always will be the reigning leader in technology and will never ever die.

All major publishers released their in-comes in June or July and PC was the most profitable for EA and Activision and PC came second for Ubisoft.

The technology is only on PC and the games including Uncharted 2 and Forza 3 was made on PC, so when you hear "not possilbe on any other platform" this mean made on PC but tweaked to work on the console then some marketing crap.

The console evolution continues but fails to keep up with PC, consoles are in some ways the cheaper alternative but mainly for people that don't like freedom.

PS3 gamers are tied down to Sony's word and if PSN goes down Bye Bye!!!
360 gamers are tied down to Microsoft's word & if Live goes down Bye Bye!!!
Wii gamers are tied down to Nintendo's word if Wii shop goes Bye Bye!!!

PC gamers chooses the DD service, the servers for game, the mods and the content that goes on their computer e.g. Personal Computer

The PC owner tailors the experience to their own needs, on consoles its all the same besides themes and colours.

Not bitter cagney, I just find PCs a waste for gaming at this point. every game needing more, its just a logical thing to say we need more stable tranferable platforms and consoles are it, I use my PC for The net and office work, I play it from time to time, back in the day I played quake half life yada yada,its just time to move on from them they are a wasteful pain for games.

I am an IT Director so obviously I dont hate PCs, just I think gaming on them is slowing down to RTS and MMO games at this point and I wouldnt have it any other way, however out side of those types of genres its consoles all the way, and data studies show, PC gaming has slowed and shrunk and will continue to do so, other than the for mentioned types above

And anyone saying its dying or its dead is a out of their mind, however it is shrinking and its time to face the fact their are new players in town (compared to the pc) game consoles with packing power not equal but hardware dedicated and designed for gaming. Consoles rule PCs eh, not so much anymore

I cant live without pc gaming and console gaming. My house is full of gamers, even my daughter plays pc games. I dont see pc gaming declining and it will stay here for a very long time. Ive been gaming on the pc and consoles for 30 years and i never get tired of both.

getting mad of gaming in pc .now i can't play new games .because hardware update is needed.i sugest console gaming and i am looking own one.even though if i manage to play a game in pc soomany obstructions such as error or viruses will spoil the good mood.upgrading pc components is a pain in ass

"we have the best version, graphics.", "mouse and keyboard rule!" the latest one i've heard: "CS players would own so hard on COD". Geez they are annoying. Have fun constantly upgrading your computer that has so much mess from your midnight knuckle baby making that you have to buy a new keyboard everytime a new game comes out! mouse and keyboard rule? really is that because everyone has target practice everyday? not even gamer just regular people. its called clicking on an icon! yup, thats target practice. mouse is stupid and too easy. maybe thats why you oooowwwnnnns!!

Another one of these articles? I won't bother reading because I'm pretty sure the author is spitting the same old BS as the rest of these. PC gaming isn't dying. Hell one of my supervisor at work who's about 50 years old just bought one of those juiced up alienware laptops (he travels a lot) just to game on it. Not only that, but think about all the people out there playing MMOs and using digital download services.

It’s funny seeing this kind of article when the news states that the video card companies have sold 20% more this year.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
