Judging by PorcelainGod's thrashing of the article (which I did not read), I guess the article didn't pay much lip-service to the PS3. I probably would disagree with the article as well, but the difference between me and PorcelainGod is that if there was an equally biased article written against the Xbox 360, I would probably state that it was biased, whereas PorcelainGod would not.

Cons:

-System still isn't cheap (Cost Same as Xbox 360 Elite)

-Game prices are high (Again, Cost same as Xbox 360 games)

-System takes up the most space (particularly for those like me who still own the first generation fat one) (Takes up too much space? The Xbox 360's Power brick is a pain in the ass)

-Not enough quality games to choose from (I patiently await the release of God of War 3 and Gran Turismo) (Alright, Author of article reeks of fanboyism by now)

-Controller isn't very comfortable for those with big hands (What are you? A giant?)

-System creates an absurd amount of heat (once again, this applies to the first generation PS3; if your home doesn't have heating, this will solve your problems) (Are you sure you're not talking about the 360 now?)

-Online game play is free; you get what you pay for (Yep, Free DEDICATED servers... there's a reason why PS3 exclusives have 32-256 online player counts)

What a load of crap, the difference in noise and heat is vast between the ps3 and 360. Not trying to knock the 360 but I did have one and it was noisy as hell and the heat was unbelievable.

i don,t get how 299 dollars is exspensive for a ps3,been from the uk to purchase a ps3 is 229 quid from toys r us which is the cheapest at present.for a 360 of the same spec its 189.but with the wifi,online fee not even adding bluray into the fold.thats over 50 quid extra in the first year alone for a 360.the cheapest blu ray player is a 99 quid extra, then every year you get 40 quid discount from owning a ps3 in non payments to live.this holy grail of live is the best is a complete joke.having a 20mb connection myself which counts out all of a america virtually, i can play on the psn without lag and a rock steady connection anytime of the day on psn.also sony offers dedicated servers for a whole load of there first party games which live doesn,t.does ms have a game like killzone to resistance to mag for sheer numbers 32 to 256 players .no it doesn,t and for a paid online experience not to offfer this let alone a web browser is cheap.

I don't get this. PS3 ain't expensive. I got it for $400 when I was a freshman in college (2 years ago). I've had a job since I was 15. People need to stop nagging about things. Got PS3 because I hate buying extra stuff. Built-in wifi is a blessing because the living room tv is a 46 inch Bravia and my modem is in my study. There is no possible way to have an ethranet cable go all the way there. And the biggest reason I even got a console this generation is God of War III. I knew it was gonna be PS3 only so I didn't hesitate to get it.

Bottom line: PS3 is what I wanted and its what I got. I am happy with games I have. Ratchet and Clank is some awesome stuff. Not everything has to be an FPS. As far as controller goes, I am used to it now. Been using same design since PS1, which I got 10 years ago. There are no cons to the system. I don't give a crap about Gears of War or Halo. I am just not into FPS stuff. Mass Effect is probably the only series which may make me buy a 360 but I got a high power PC so who cares.

This article is bias because some cons that was listed for the PS3 was also evident for the Xbox360, in which the author didn't list for reasons:
Apparently the PS3 has no cons, because he said that the PS3 gives off more heat than the Xbox360...which is not true, because the Xbox360 RROD is the primary reason the system overheats and practically melts the GPU and he said that the game prices are high, its the same prices along with the Xbox360 and another con he listed was not enough quality games, makes me wonder if he works for microsoft. Here's a few PS3 games that are really worth mentioning: Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, inFamous, Warhawk, Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet do i even need to list more...i thought so, the PS3 library is filled with AAA games and upcoming games such as Agent, Heavy Rain, God Of War 3, MAG and the ever so popular and the best selling racing frachise Gran Turismo 5, the PS3 is the console to get this generation and if there is any doubt in your mind, you must be delusional.

The lesser system is the one that uses an antiquated dvd9 system, charges you to play online, overheats then breaks, scratches your discs, E74 error prone, overpriced peripherals, lack of first party support and lastly a lack of innovation and risk when it comes to the games.

both consoles have great games and features that the other doesn't have. get both or go with your personal preference.

Who appoved this dribble! This is completely pointless. It puts fanboy vs fanboy vs fanboy. All 3 systems have its pros and cons, but in the end it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. My question is what system do you want to play? Then there is your answer!

so I dont feel the need to even buy one yet until I can get it for $50 USD. I still use the Wii for fighters and GCN games and my PS3 for fighters and KZ2.

That list is wrong. The PS3 doesn't have PS2 compatibility anymore. Also, $299 isn't expensive. It might be the most expensive but it's dirt cheap now. You get almost everything you need in the box. You only need to buy an HDMI cable to play HD. The Wii doesn't come with much and is low def. The 360 is almost as expensive now and you have to buy a lot of add-ons which makes the PS3 cheaper.

The 360 is a defective piece of trash, the worst hardware ever made by humans. It has nothing but cliched overhyped FPS games and it is designed to rip people off with accessories and paying for online.

Did he put "System still isn't cheap" under the Cons for the PS3? How much do you want it to be? $0.99? $299 hits the sweet spot and the sales show it. It's a reasonable price for how much the PS3 gives you. Also, did he put "System is costly unless you get the Arcade version" under the Cons for Xbox 360? All the systems are costly, they're going to cost you money.

I don't care which system is 'better' but I have to say in all honesty I recently switched from 360 to a PS3 slim and I'm still ridiculously happy with the decision. I still get as giddy as a wet schoolgirl when thinking about it. Free online play, blu ray player, far faaar better visuals (Obviously only on exclusives), much quieter, nice size, I honestly still can't get over it.

The only thing that I come close to preferring about the 360 is the pad. I much prefer the triggers and the indentation in the sticks to keep your fingers slipping off but even then I remember that the PS3 controller works without a battery pad which makes it tons lighter and a whole lot less fuss.

If you have a 360 and are happy with it I'm happy for you. Don't take my gushing over the PS3 as some 'I'm better than you' fanboy crap. I'm just telling you about my own personal experience. Personally I'm so much happier with a PS3 I can't even tell you.

the author seems a little out of touch. The PS3 is 299, so is it really "still too expensive"? And it is an old wives tale these days that PS3 does not have good game selection. And why would cost of games be a 'con' against that PS3, and not the same for 360, when they cost the same?
