I'm sorry, but if I go into a store, buy something and it doesn't work, I get pissed off too. Yes, the consumers are pissed off and have every right to be, but its not their fault, its the fault of the store that sold it early when they shouldn't have.
However, this happens all the time, its not illegal, its more luck than anything else. Even Microsoft has said on numerous occasions that if you get a 360 game early, legitimately, then well done, go play it and have fun. The publishers of Borderlands should have anticipated that this would happen and had the authentication servers online before hand, especially since on day 1 they're going to get overloaded anyway, may as well let the lucky few who got it early get it out of the way now.

Meanwhile, everyone who got it on 360 and PS3, be it on or before the release date, has been playing it since the moment they put it in their machine.

Ppl still buy at stores? Wow. I'm already completed migrating to Steam services. Which BTW, you still can pre-purchased it for $44.99 and pre-uploaded into your PC and play it when its unlocked on the street date. :D

If the game is sold the 26th, PC gamers have just to shut up.
The PC community must roar about MW2 but in this case, they just have to wait and play solo.

I'm already at Level 23, and have unlocked over 300 Achievement pts. Someone explain to me again how exactly PC gaming is "superior" to console gaming. :p

I'm pretty sure this article is mis-titled. It really should read: 'Various Retail Outlets' causing uproar in the PC community.

Not: 'Borderlands' causing uproar in PC community. It's not the developers fault the game was sold pre-release date.

When is not one thing with PC gamers is another. Common sense will tell you just because you got it early does not mean the servers will be up. Sheesh

All PC games should have first day activation.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
