Some Advice on Saving Money Before Picking Up Windows 7

Gizmodo published a pretty handy guide with some tips to avoid wasting precious cash on Windows 7 or a new lap/desk top that you may want to pick up in addition to the new OS.

I'm going to save myself a headache by simply avoiding Windows 7.

And before all you Windows 7 beta lovers jump down my throat....everyone was singing the praises of Vista before it came out, too, even the "tech guys".

JOLLY16059d ago

I would have never guessed that you gwave wouldn't want a Microsoft product.

Major_Tom6059d ago (Edited 6059d ago )

Indeed they did, except some websites are more vocal about Windows 7.

There's no need to upgrade basically, but most of the people have never even tried linux or Mac or anything else other than Windows, so they're inherently ignorant. Especially, ESPECIALLY on this website.

If you stuck on Vista, there is need to upgrade. Anything is better than Vista.

Lucreto6059d ago

I might get it after I hear some reviews. I don't want to pay to upgrade unless it is nescessary. Vista has messed up my Laptop everything runs slow now. If I can get confirmation that is will fix the problem I will spend the money.

Christopher_Walken6059d ago

I got this for free so I guess I'll use it.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing24d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit24d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing24d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9224d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
