wallet transfer is stupid, atm there is no real point of hacking a account, adding wallet transfer will encourage nicking someones account and transfering all of their funds to yours

The only thing I think the PS3 truly needs is the ability to have your sub accounts turned into master accounts if they want. Other than that, I support anything that Sony pushes out.

This list isn't that good.

1. Unlimited friends list? Aren't we Mr. Popular. The reason it's 100 either A: is a random number put into the code; or B: necessary because of the way PSN is structured. I think it is A so maybe Sony will increase the number. It doesn't bother me personally because I would rather play with people I know instead of random people I played once or twice. If you have too many, delete one. Problem solved.

2. PSN wallet transfer? Yeah because that wouldn't invite fraud or anything, would it?

3. Better web browser? I will give you this one as the browser could use some improvements but it's not really an issue unless you use the browser a lot. And because the browser isn't that good, why would you?

4. In game music? This has been said many, many times. MS patented the system to allow in-game music on consoles. Sony does not want to go through the bullshit of lawsuits with MS and have to pay just to have the feature. Individual developers can add the functionality themselves to the games if they choose, but Sony cannot have a overlying system to do it without violating MS's patent.

5. Change PSN ID? Yes, the option to change would be nice. But so would a blowjob every hour on the hour. Maybe next time pick something you can live with. And even if you did change it you would probably have to add all your friends again.

I'm not trying to crap all over your list but it just seems like some of this is b1tching just to b1tch. Yes, the PS3 could improve in areas, but not a single one of the things on this list are needs; they are more of wants. For example, in-game XMB was needed. Trophy support being mandatory was needed. This stuff would be nice if it happened, but it is not needed.

Yea I can stand this list, its fair enough to call these things out. I would like to see all the things on that list with the obvious cross game invite and chat, with voice messeging.

PSN Wallet Transfer - If you want to give a friend PSN credit, buy him a card.

Better Web Browser - How could they improve it? With a keyboard it works just like a PC browser. You can watch videos and everything else on the net.

In-Game Music - Agreed to some extent. I wish all games had it, but a good portion of them do. Also, good games have good music. All of my currently owned games have such good music that I wouldn't listen to my own music anyways.

Ability to Change PSN ID - Pick something you like from the get-to. Changing an ID is very difficult on the database. Nuff said.

Someone else who thinks like me. The lack of AA in nearly all the multiformats is getting on my wick. U2, K2 and alot of exclusives are ok, but the difference in the likes of R5,GTA4,Batman, Fifa10, is still pretty bad considering what the console can do with the likes of U2. DEV'S SORT IT OUT.

Last I checked PS3 does support in-game music, play warhawk and you'll see. In-game music is overrated unless the games music is some dull generic FPS soundtrack.

PSN Wallet Transfer- So you basically want me to be able to transfer money to a friend of mine and put money into his account. I don't think so. This has security issues written all over it. Treat your PSN wallet like a bank. You can't just transfer money from your account to your friend's account. You need to write a check at the very least straight to him in which he then needs to deposit it. So no...this won't ever happen.

Web Browser- Coming from experience I say it is fine. I came home one day to find my roommates in college messing with it and ending up having streaming porn just fine. So I don't see what the problem is :)

PSN ID- This I can understand it would be nice but again, everything playstation related or 99% of it is related to your PSN ID and if you changed it that wouldn't be a small simple change. Every database it's in would have to get it changed and all the information transferred. Would be nice, but I don't see it happening.

I'm a new PS3 owner . I've had a 360 for a couple of years . I'm loving having both. I always stream music from my ipod when playing 360 . its a must for me especially when playing SF4. My LCD runs through my stereo Aux so I cant just chuck on a CD instead

Changing ID is a nightmare. you can do it on xbox Live but they charge you . Everyone will be changing ID every 2 weeks and you cant keep track of everyone

seriously, i created my PSN ID nearly three years ago and i would do anything to change it without losing my platinum trophies.

better zoom for the pictures, same zoom like controls for the browser, music options for all games, watching the planet while listening to music is great, but a few more backgrounds would be nice ill gladly pay for them, more detailed friends list, age/sex/hobbys/etc, the abilty to record gameplay and upload it to all to view and vote on, i want the abilty to keep my icons when i use a dynamic theme, i would like to see more mini games on the ps3 chess/tetris/solitaire/space invaders and id like them to be instant load games,id also like to search for friends how have similar games and similar ranking

I think the three things SONY needs is to market the hell out of the PS3, and more exclusive titles than the Xbox 360, and more special bundles.

I'm currently at 50 friends on XBL, but that's because I go thru every other month or so and sort thru people that I don't remember / don't play with / don't want to play with.

So.. Do that? and then you won't complain about silly stuff. My one friend keeps a full friendslist, but he only ever plays with a handful of his friends. Pointlesss.

Plus, these all seem like little, itty bitty things that don't matter that much. If the PS3 got like, party chat, and made the interface awesome like the 360 has, I would jump on board more willingly.

If you block someone on 360 and they change their gamertag, they're still blocked. I doubt that it would be different on PSN and if it was then that's really dumb.

The wallet transfer won't happen because someone could hack your account, or a "friend" could know your password and take your money. It's actually a terrible idea.

I agree that the friends list on both PSN and 360 should be bigger. 100 people fills up rather quickly if you play a lot of online games.

1: Don't think Sony is really planing on stopping at a 100 friends and isn't 360 like that until they put out a update to add more friends?

2: Being able to more your money around to other accounts would be a bad thing retard, if PS3 ever got hack to the point that people could take money from you, then that little add to the PS3 would be bad.

Plus alot of people would try to move their money to their Japanese PSN account an try to buy some games.

3: The web browser does need to be fix alittle but HEY!!! Sony is working hard to get all the bugs out of it so you can have a free online play an free update that might not kill your system.

This person lacks alot of brain to understand things an to go an say the first Xbox could play music in all games, well that just shows how smart he is. Right now the PS3 and Xbox (The first one) both do the game with their games an music off the hard drive.

With the list of music I got on my PS3, the 360 would lack because I have to go threw 1,005 songs (Keep in mind I got 500GBs pack in my PS3)

All but the in-game music could be one firmware update away, the wallet transfer idea could get unmanageable. Thinking back how the PS3 felt alittle empty back in 07(when I purchased 60gb model) , to all the available features now. Sony has done a great job addressing features update by update , for no additional cost to the consumer. I suggest to all PS3 owners to log in and post comments on Sony's PS3 page about upcoming firmware update features.

Not a big PS3 fan, but this is just 5 year old's opus.

1)Unlimited friends list: Personally I dont know over 100 people with a ps3 so Im fine. But its probably to do with the amount of memory the OS takes up. And to be honest if it was unlimited people would just end up adding anyone. Personally I find tht some people who try to add me are just plain odd...

2)Wallet transfer: JUST NO. What if my old ps3's PSN file gets hacked and this person uses it to add to their funds? You can buy PSN cards now from retail stores which makes that point invalid, and just plain stupid...

3)This is a good one. The ps3's browser can be pretty slow at times but for the most part it works alright. Some improvement would be nice though. I it in the top 5 things I want? Considering Im using a PC to type this right now, not really.

4)YES YES YES. Everyone is crying out for this. MAKE IT MANDATORY SONY. At the leasi i want all new games to come with custom music enabled.

5) To be honest if you choose a dumb PSN name it really is your own fault... plus if people kept changing their PSN ID people online wouldnt know who you were, and also you may have denyed a friends request from that person since in an online game he/she was a douche, and now theyve changed their ID and tried again. In game music I use all the time on racing games on my 360 but not much else. Would be nice to be able to choose my music on gt5 prologue. Its definately good on racing games and has anyone tried playing COD with the karate kid theme? Thats awesome! ps3 needs this option

Being able to tranfer money from one account to another is opening a whole can of worms. I don't think PSN wants to get into the banking business. Besides the technical & security changes that would probably be needed, you then start getting into Federal regulatory issues if your business wants to provide money transfer services.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
