Use an EyeToy. Much easier, dont have to put it on your ear, charge it or anything. Just plug in and play

That's one thing I like about XBL, everyone has the same standard mic, or a better one (well for the most part) so the voice chat quality is always good while on PSN we have to fend for ourselves on what mic to get and peoples voice quality is pretty inconsistent, either you get people with good mics, or people with bad mics with horrible voice quality.
And is it just me or does every single mic on PS3 have horrible noise cancellation because I swear every game I join I always hear peoples TVs and other background noises and it's pretty annoying.
Actually going back to the subject on noise cancellation, I think it depends on the game because I notice with my mic (I use the usb headset I use for my computer) in MAG the noise cancellation is fantastic, and my mic icon only lights up when I actually speak, meanwhile in Uncharted 2 Demo & other multiplayer games, my mic icon lights up like crazy when I'm not speaking...so yea idk
Bluetooth is crap, go for USB, such as the official ps2 headset.
People buy cheap bluetooth headsets and say it works great but little do they know everyone else online can hear there tv speakers, static and any other background noise.
That "article" has about zero value. How about, after stating that the official Playstation bluetooth has some "great features", telling us about what the features actually are and how they work.
I've been using a Plantronics 220 for well over a year. Bought it for about $30 at Walmart. The friends I play with tell me the sound quality is good with minimal background noise. In public matches, no one has complained about my mic. My only complaint is that the charge doesn't last through a complete night's worth of gaming. I can wear it while it's charging though, so not a total bust.
