Jay Wilson Interview: Part One

Diii.net has posted the first portion of their exclusive interview with Diablo 3 Lead Designer Jay Wilson. In this selection Jay talks at length about the design theory behind the recently-announced, still-secret non-mana resource systems that will power the Monk, Witch Doctor, and Wizard characters in Blizzard's upcoming sequel.

This is just the first of what's going to be about half a dozen installments of our huge interview. I can hardly wait for you guys to read them -- Jay revealed so much new stuff!

Hehe, you bastard for keeping us in the dark :)

Redrudy6045d ago

A lot more thought is going into the classes resources this time. They're really thinking on how this will affect gameplay and being careful not to put a resource in for the sake of it.

Leord6045d ago

You say that, but I'm not really sure they NEED to change mana for the Wizard. I mean, if anything, the Wizard's most natural resource should be mana, surely?

Dorjan6045d ago

Hmm playing back D2 kinda is boring now. I hope they've made it totally different and modern this time.

Redrudy6045d ago

heh, I think "modern" might be stretching it somewhat. Blizzard don't innovate they replicate and perfect.

Cheers, anythign to lift up the Diablo Drought :)

Leord6045d ago

Hehe, was gonna make a Diablo Wiki article about that, but apparently, it's already done :)

If they didn't let the cellphone guy touch the 3rd one in first place, they wouldn't have to dance around like clowns trying to make money.

We've been asking for less "boring" seasons... "boring"... not "buggy"... same ol' rehashed content just a different color is not working.
