I have been playing an old PS1 game Lunar 2 on my PS2 right now. Of course you have to use a PS1 memory card to do the saves and loads. I like having backwards compatibility but, where and how will I get to my old PS1 and PS2 data from the current memory card system. I have yet to see a spot to plug the old memory cards from PS2 and PS1 into the new PS3. If anyone has this information that would rock. I would like to play my old games again on the new PS3 but I would like to start where I left off. Not all cause some just don't matter but others I would like to start where I left off.

Perhaps the author should fact check before talking out of his arse! The current backwards compat list for the 360 lists over 200 games that are certified as compatible. That is 10x the number listed in his PS3 fan boy article. The only thing that is seriously backwards here, is the authors ability to check facts before making incorrect statements!

This is a funny story. I also heard in one of Sony's BC testing that 40 PS2 games couldn't run on the 'god-like' PS3. Sony talk out of their @sses!

I grew up with Nintendo since the regular NES so their B/C is more appealing to me. As huge of a fan I am of Xbox. Neither Sony or Microsoft have accompolished anything near Nintendo, yet alone been in the videogame biz as long!

i am happy cause i missed on alot of final fantasy games(1-9) so i will be playing them with warhawk, UT 2007, DMC, metal gear and heavenly sword.

Because of the small library of games. After a while though, as the amount of games increase, people start to forget about it. I can remember playing Halo 2 every now and then around the first few months on the 360's launch. But slowly as GRAW, Oblivion, and BFME 2 have come out, I have no interest in playing old Xbox games.

I agree with 13. But I also have to say that BC is important and thats why I always like the PS2 and Im interesting on 3. Backwards is so important that even Nintendo want its Wii play old NES games. Even after an overdose of nextgen Im goig to have fun with my old games, thats the reason I bougth them. Even better could be if the new hardware could improve the old software. Just imagine playing your old games with improvements in graphics. I hope the Ps3 could improve, maybe with some anti-aliasing and texture definition, my collection of over 70 PS2 games. something that the 360 didnt do to my collection of over 40 Xbox games.

I am glad actually that you can play some PS1 or PS2 games when the console launches. The PS2 games certainly look better then most of the ingame footage of PS3 games that's around right now. Only game for launch that looks interesting is Heavenly Sword if you ask me. But is that a system seller?

i dont think heavenly sword is a system seller but im not buying ps3 cause of one game. im buying it cause of warhawk and heavenly sword. i know when people see that i said warhawk there probably like what in the world. but i believe warhawk is going to be great it just seems like a fun game even though i havent played it acourse im just talk about all the recent videos not that 05 video.
