PSP Firmware Update 6.10

Posted by Eric Lempel:
Hi Everyone,

PSP update (v6.10) will be available soon. This is a big update for us in preparation for the launch of PSPgo. New PSPgo owners should make sure to download the update to ensure full compatibility with MediaGo and with all PSP titles. Here are some of the key features we'll be introducing

I think this is an awesome idea and a cool feature. I got a feeling the PSPgo won't be as popular as they hope but so long as they keep supporting the PSP-3000 we as the fans will be happy.

Well, I think this is one reason for a PSP Go, as a ipod competitor. Bluetooth headset and Go. Nice and small and because of that better suited as a music player then a regular PSP. I am sure the PSP Go will have its market. I don't really understand why people complain about the price. All the high end MP3 players (well, Ipod etc) cost the same.

I want the MediaGO music interface on the PS3, btw. incl. the Gracenote interface, and why not an integrated Amazon MP3 store ? Somehow my Media GO library looses the cover art on the PS3. That interface looks neat on the PSP now. I like it.

maybe I'll actually be installing this and getting rid of the 5.00whatever M33 or something custom firmware

all I really use that thing for is music :) and videos :)

now if only there was youtube....

I had no idea the PSP was capable of pulling off those effects, although they don't require much power. :P

these updates are cool and all, but they always forget to fix that Damn Web Browser.. Seriously it sucks and fails hard. The DSi's Opera Browser destroys this thing.

EDIT:
its amazing when people disagree at facts.

if you own both portables, you will realize off the Bat that the web browser that the DS uses (yes from Opera) kicks the crap out of the PS3's web browser. This is sad, but true..

Sure Opera is better, but both are not really worth mentioning. The only good thing about the PSP browser is, that you can authenticate the proxy in Hotel WiFi connections to use Skype there. Other then that, why would you surf with the PSP (or on the even smaller screen of the DS)?

Neither, I have a G1 phone for that ;)

saint_john_paul_ii6069d ago (Edited 6069d ago )

Why Not? its a mobile Device, what if you want to keep current with news and other stuff?

i dont have a G1 and dont feel like paying and extra $30 for a data plan. there are time when i need a device that can go on the internet, check your mail, check the news, etc.... i would usually walk in to places that have free wifi and check my stuff out. and i usually did this with my PSP-1000. so why not?

So since tethering is bluetooth, that means it's only for the psp go?

this reminds me if 3.10 rumors are true
