I can see the bluetooth support and other little features like pause state and the clock.

But I cant see the internal memory happening: that will pretty much kill the Go's core feature besides its UMDless nature.

true but hey if it happens its very welcomed and that would be the one i buy ... but it will probably be more expensive if it does and the go might be reduced soo we will see how this pans out all i know is i want umd in my psp and bluetooth with that im good

I would have to agree that internal memory would completely eliminate the point of the Go however it would also be the best PSP around if it were to happen. Maybe Sony purposely made the sub par PSP Go! so they could introduce this new PSP 4000 and make it look very appealing thus selling a ton of units and then they will phase out the Go.

Yeah it's incredibly unlikely I know just thinking out loud.

Well, if that's true, I can see a price increase for the PSP4000 (added functionality) and thus a smaller price gap between Go and normal. Or the Go will become cheaper. The Go still has the size advantage. I actually like that you can put it in your pocket. The big one is still clumsy.

of the Go is also a key feature. The Go slides easily into one's pocket, while the PSP X000 can barely fit if you cram it in there. It's all about portability with the Go. The X000's are more about the games.

Seems like UMD is slowly gonna go away as no-one, but Sony is supporting it now. With PSP Go, even they are moving away from it....

Dear Sony
Please stop making new iterations of the PSP and hurry up and give us a PSP2 with two analog nubs and an OLED screen. It will probably be
very expensive but cheeper than buying PSP 1000, 2000, 3000, Go.

You people just don't get it. This is not going to effect Go at all, as those who would be interested in a 4000 are not the ones Sony is going after with the Go.

Go was made for the iphone/zune portable gamer, who likes small, cheap games on a device they can store their media on as well. these people do not care to have to carry around a case for their psp and it's games. they just want to be able to stick it in their pocket and have all their games right there in the system. That is why they made it smaller, including the screen, so it was more pocket friendly.

PSP-1000-4000 series is different. It's made for folks like me, who do not mind carrying a case full of UMD's around. For the folks who like to have physical media, enjoy the larger screen size, etc. it doesn't have to be pocket friendly as it is usually carried around in a case with it's games.

The two go after totally different markets, like PS3 and wii.

even if there is a psp4000 you could down load the games allso. and not have to drag umd around but it gives the person the option. to go down load are umd. plus it adds blue tooth for the ps3 controler and a umd drive to play your old umds so sony wants to offer more then one option

Well it's not exactly a new thing, this information being so widespread is what's new. Home consoles almost allways go through many revisions in their life cycle, however people never used to make a big deal of it as they do now. Lets not forget the general consumer isn't spending time on game news sites and following every detail of hardware revisions, as far as they know the a psp on the shelf now is the same as it was 4 years ago. It's the same with other consoles too, unless it's specifically advertised of course.

Consumers general see the difference when the package (casing of the device), color, or some other largly visual change is made, not when internal components are updated.

What about if Sony gives more support to the PSP's web browser ??

it is amazing that all the updates on the PSP recived on the past year did not improve this ultra bugged and slow browser .
When I bought my PSP 2000 it could open correctely and fast heavy sites such N4G.com and IGN.com , but now it is no lomger possible :(

Ha, and people said MS was stupid for releasing so many versions of the 360.... They said MS was confusing the consumer... Sony, just stop. I bought the 3000 a week ago and I love it. I'm not the slightest bit interested in the Go, and now you're thinking of another version? Talk about milking the consumer with every hardware release. You take a lower priced product, upgrade it a little (if you can call a UMD-less drive an upgrade) and charge the consumer even more! How much will this 4000 model cost? $200, $225? This is getting ridiculous. Pick a model and stick with it. If you want to keep upgrading the hardware Sony, just forget it. Come up with all these new ideas and incorporate them into a single unit. Rehashing the PSP with 1 or 2 new features ever year won't cut it in this economy and you'll end up losing a fanbase.
