Halo 3 Beta: Another Take

No, the Halo 3 beta does not look as good as Gears of War. It's unlikely the final game will either. The fast paced nature of Halo 3, larger environments, and having more people in a match at once makes Gears of War type graphics seem out of reach. Obviously, the final game will look a little better than what you see now in the beta. One only has to look at the fact that the recently released Halo 2 maps are more detailed than those in the Halo 3 beta for reassurance of that.

All are pretty much the same thoughts.

Agreed! i'm sick of looking at it. People will be happy if its close to Lost Planet graphicly give or take, the fun factor is exspected.

If you look at the armour in the Vidoc and see the more polished Bruts and the pic above the charector graphics will be something between those examples with some Lost Planet detail and textures you find in the enviroments; already seeing it in things like Catwalks and Concret.

exactly what i have been saying for the past few months, when i started playing both GoW and Resistance (R), i noticed exactly the same trend..eventhough (R) does not use texture-streaming; I have said a million time, bigger and more expansive games should NOT be compare to 'confined' GoW. (R) has more happening at the same time! same as Halo3.

each game stands up to its own right.. Game on Halo3...

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
