GameSpot: Samurai Warriors 3 Hands-On

It's been three years since the last full installment in the Samurai Warriors franchise, and though Koei has recently grown fond of using the Warriors moniker on games featuring flying space robots doing battle with other flying space robots, don't take that to mean Koei has given up exploring the history of feudal Japan. The publisher-developer is hard at work on Samurai Warriors 3 for Nintendo Wii, which is due out for release next year in North America and Europe.

NWR writes: "Samurai Warriors 3 is the third installment in the Samurai Warriors series and the first to be released on a Nintendo platform. Even though Tecmo Koei and Omega Force have handled the distribution and development of past games, Nintendo got its hands on Samurai Warriors 3 and published the game in territories outside of Japan. For those expecting the game to be at the same standard as many of Nintendo's other games, they will be disappointed to hear that Samurai Warriors 3 is a horrid entry into the Wii's ever-growing library of games."

To sum it up for you very briefly, Samurai Warriors 3 is Samurai Warriors 2, but with a crappier framerate and inferior voice-acting. If you’re new to the series, I can sum it up for you briefly: mindlessly mash the 'A' button a lot and you win."
