Aren't cult followings for obscure things anyway?

Windows is too popular for a "cult" following, depending on how you interpret the use of that word.

I use Windows only because I have to, because I want to be able to do the work I love and am paid for. If softwares would support other systems then I would use something else.. maybe. I don't really hate Windows or office etc.. but I don't really love them either.

My Xbox360 is totally loveable though!

first things first, a cult following is for niche things, like the mac has a cult following, and it only account for what 5-10% of the computer market.

Its rather silly to say they dont have fans, when 90% of the computer populace uses their products in some form or another, people really dont know how much microsoft products are in the market...

How many computers do you see today running XP, or any type of windows for that matter? Pretty much everything. It's past the cult stage. It's now a way of life for many people.

I guess that a good thing. I just received my New Vista PC... After clicking here and there I installed a few of my development tools (i.e. Visual Studio.net 2005) and a few games.. and I started doing what I a PC is made for... only ignorants make a big deal of OS... and OS is there just to allow you to run programs and to link all the hardware to make that possible. I know there are some people here that use linux or mac.. for the simple fact that it's not microsoft... or because they want to feel cool... to many of us... we only care about the programs and games we can run.. the OS with the most software and games that's the one we use... I mean.. seriously... it does not matter how cool your OS is ... with no programs it's borring!... ohh look I can copy and paste! wow! big deal. By the way vista is nice.. it's fast and run nicely... wait a sec.. who knows.. maybe it's because I have 4GB Mem and 64Bits X 2 cores... and a directX10 able video card...
