Xbox Evolved: Batman: Arkham Asylum Review

Xbox Evoled writes: "After years and years of misfires, disappointments, and outright misery, developer Rocksteady and publisher Eidos have struck gold with Batman: Arkham Asylum, the first great superhero game we've ever had. The superhero genre has not fared well in the video game industry. Superman 64 is considered by some to be the worst game of the 1990's. Other games, going from DC to Marvel to Dark Horse universes, have had a wide range of success, with much of it ranging near the putrid category. Exceptions like Marvel Ultimate Alliance come along every now and then, but none have come close to the mark that Arkham Asylum has achieved."

only if it had the joker and all his missions.
its like a whole new game with the joker.
apparently, only the ps3 has that content. i wonder why?

from the review:

" The only primary weakness the game has is that the game isn’t very challenging. Detective mode, I suppose, plays a part in this because you can see just about everything through those lenses, but the AI isn’t as smart as I would have liked and the game feels soft, even on hard difficulty. I never had particular difficulty fighting my way through a challenge. I may have died a few times in spots, but it never felt overwhelming or exhausting to figure out a particular problem. "

"The quest is quite long and takes about eight to ten hours to finish. When you throw in more than a dozen challenge mode mini-games (PS3 demo fans will be familiar with this) and a deep, multifaceted gameplay design you’ll have more than enough to keep you going. It’s been a good few years for Batman and this stellar piece of craftsmanship is yet another reason to rejoice. This is one fine piece of work that can be enjoyed by fans and non-fans alike. "

Looks like it needed just a bit more Joker gameplay : )
