Batman: Arkham Asylum - Physx benchmarks with comparison shots and video

PC Games Hardware checked how the performance of the PC version of Batman is affected by the additional Physx effects. They also took comparative screenshots that demonstrate the different Physx settings.

According to their benchmarks the medium Physx effects almost halve the framerate. The high settings on the other hand only require a little extra power.

Strange I have the game running with similar setting with an overclocked 260 gtx and I'm getting similar benchmarks with physx on high. 51 Average, 26 minimum. I would have expected more from a 285 gtx.

GTX 285 isn't really that big of an improvement over the GTX 260 to justify the extra price. If I were someone who was planning to buy a GTX 285, I would just go with SLI 275s or 260s. Or wait for DX11 cards.

Adding a dedicated PhysX card actually gives a very nice performance boost in Batman: Arkham Asylum.

I haven't tried that yet for Batman, but I remember that was the only way I could get the Darkest of Days demo to run decently. But that game was terribly optimised.
