Master Miller confirmed for Peace Walker?

from Kojima's blog:

"PSP colors on the final check.
The trail of hair and scarf OK!
Reflection of the sunglasses GOOD!
I like the sunglasses 70's, handsome!
I expect quite popular."

Peter North6080d ago

Hideo Kojima is putting all of his talent and effort into MGS:Peacewalker, coming exclusively to the PlayStation Portable.

chidori6666080d ago

mgspeace walker is the real mgs cuz kojima is working in... not crap game like mgsraiden.

Sir Ken_Kutaragi6080d ago (Edited 6080d ago )

He is keeping the Good stuff on the PlayStation Brand!!! ;-P

Let's hope he makes another PS3 ONLY MGS Game. I'm not really interested in MG:Rising really, 'Lighting Bolt Action'??? WTF??? The ChatBots can have it!!!;)

ThatCanadianGuy6080d ago

Epic win if true.

Ugh..such a perfect time frame & setting for this game!

morganfell6080d ago

Yes, the TRUE Metal Gear sequel is looking incredible.

Polluted6080d ago

Ha ha. Just had to take a little dig at Rising there, eh? What's the point, really?

morganfell6080d ago

You mean other than accurately quoting Kojima?

GameGambits6080d ago

Yeah the shots at Rising are old man. I too am way more excited for Peace Walker, but you need to consider all the possibilities with Rising.

1) What if Kojima becomes more involved with the project?(He's done this before where he says he'll be on the outside looking in then jumps in full throttle...it could very well happen)

2) What if this game comes out and gets outstanding marks all across the board? What then?

I'm hoping for the best with Rising. We don't know much and it seems like it will be less than stellar, but being out on an agenda against this game is stupid, especially when the odds of it succeeding are probably just as close of it failing.

I can't wait for PeaceWalker though. <3 my PSP to death. :D

morganfell6080d ago (Edited 6080d ago )

What if purple monkeys invade the earth and take over the world?

If, if, if. Coulda, shoulda, woulda, maybe, maybe not. We can issue suppositions all day long. But what we have are the facts as they satnd, not flights of fancy to the Emerald City aboard candy cotton hot air baloons.

And if you watch the MS presentation at E3 then you will see a Kojima that wasn't thrilled to be there - buit he no longer has a choice since he is also now a Konami exec. It is pretty certain where Kojima's attention lies and that place is Peacewalker, THE next Metal Gear title.

At ThatCanadianGuy below, I actually have the real coat he is wearing in that clip. It also the same style coat worn by Liquid.

ThatCanadianGuy6080d ago (Edited 6080d ago )

All this talk of MGS made me go check out the ending of MGS4 again.
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Whitefox7896080d ago

We never met the real Master Miller in MGS1.Hopefully we get to see who he was and how he was able to gain the respect and trust of Snake.

morganfell6080d ago

He knew Snake (and Big Boss) from Metal Gear 2. That trust came from his support of Snake then. Miller worked for Big Boss who recruited him into Foxhound.

TheColbertinator6080d ago

I can't remember.Lost the games ages ago

cr33ping_death6080d ago

does Mileer ever mention anything about Big Boss in the MGS? i dont recall him ever saying anything. maybe they will show a walk on guest appearance by a very young Snake and how he meets miller? aahhh who cares everything will be revealed in do time :)

morganfell6080d ago (Edited 6080d ago )

McDonnell Benedict Miller, or Master Miller was a member of Foxhound which was formed by Big Boss. He doesn't really say anything about Big Boss in MGS. But Miller first appeared in Metal Gear 2 - the MSX2 version.

cr33ping_death6080d ago

too bad those never made over here....wait werent they on Mgs 3 subsistance????

morganfell6080d ago (Edited 6080d ago )

The second disc in Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence is called Persistence and has perfect copies of the MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

I actually have the version of MGS3 Subsistence that also includes Existence. A very hard and costly version to find these days.

cr33ping_death6080d ago

my bro has a copy of that version of MGS 3..... i never got around to trying the old games out. guess its time i give him a call :)

George Sears6080d ago (Edited 6080d ago )

My bad, didn't want to post here.

Would like to clarify to the OP that Miller wasn't in MGS though. Don't want to spoil anything so let's just leave it at that.

morganfell6080d ago (Edited 6080d ago )

It was Cam Clark in MGS. I am just hoping they use Richard Doyle for Big Boss.

morganfell6080d ago (Edited 6080d ago )

No, I don't think so. Doyle did the voice over for the Peacewalker trailer and the voice has to transition sooner or later.

Besides, his performance here was epic.

HUGE SPOILERS AT LINK:

PirateThom6080d ago

A random idea I had, that the game takes place in the past and the events are being narrated by Big Boss in later life.

Doyle does the narration, Hayter does the in-game charater.

foxtheory6080d ago

Well he does have a good voice that would fit Big Boss perfectly. Either one will be great, and as long as it suits the character I'm fine with it.

morganfell6080d ago (Edited 6080d ago )

Doyle just seems to have a wisdom and realization implicit in his voice that I do not get from Hayter - however much I like his performances. There is almost a sort of resignation in Doyle's voice as if the knowledge of the truth resides in every word. It isn't just what he says, it is his performance.

I get the idea Thom I still just hope they go with Doyle.

@Unicron, I think we'll see Zero as the break between he/Patriots and Big Boss occurs.

foxtheory6080d ago

@morgan
Yeah, he has that wise voice whereas Hayter has that war-torn voice. If they could have a mix between the two, it would be perfect. But a change would be nice, too. Hayter's voice has been in every MGS game, and Doyle would be a nice change.

@thorn
That's a great idea, but it would play out like someone was telling you a story rather than creating the story as you go. I don't know, but narration has that 3rd person perspective, and a 1st person perspective just seems right. Great thought though!!

mistajeff6080d ago

@thom

Wow, that's actually a really awesome idea.

mistajeff6080d ago

I agree with you morganfell, so I think the Big Boss voice actor should really depend on BB's maturity as a soldier at Peace Walker's point in his life. If he's still stubborn and reckless, go with Hayter, but if he's more all-knowing and wise, make it Doyle. Also I totally didn't realize it was Doyle narrating the trailer, good ear. God I'm so pumped for this game

The Out of Place Artifact - A Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Retrospective

VGChartz's Issa Maki: "Even to fans, the thought that a T-rated game could rank as the greatest is virtually unthinkable; how could the best Metal Gear possibly be a handheld title on a system less powerful than a PlayStation 2? Because it had to be – necessity is the mother of invention. Not only is this a full-fledged Metal Gear, the fresh spin on the gameplay draws from several sources outside of its wheelhouse. Peace Walker somehow manages to be less like its predecessor, Portable Ops, and more akin to Metal Gear Solid V. What boggles the mind is that it would be over five years before The Phantom Pain would release, an entire generation later."
