they keep random battles and the materia system. Just make it look next-gen that's all I want from the remake

and other Square trickery to milk franchises, but this is one of my favorite games,(In the TOP 5) I could not see myself not owning a PS3 just to play this game, and I probably would play it and beat it before I would touch FFXIII.

so yeah I'm old-school, MATERIA and RANDOM battles keeps it interesting. I like, to not know whats lurking in darkness or unfamlilar area until that Random battle music starts.

I'm playing FF12 and of course it's different. I have not gotten used to it. I seem to be dodging fights and running away most of the time. Especially when a part member strays and engages other tough beast, then you end up fighting 4 fights. Just chaos.

I need this game come on remake it for the PS3!!

Whats Konami got to do with a Final Fantasy VII remake? How would they know?

I call BS. Not because of the Konami thing, but because of the fact that the Square Enix party would have been the perfect time to announce such a title...

I really hope this is true because i have not yet played FF VII on Playstation. But this would be a great start in final fantasy world :D

the best thing square could do is lie and say its not being made, then just announce it when its actually done, 2 weeks before its released,

that was saying the ps3 version of pe6 is 3 times better than the xbox version. BOGUS, square said they wont make it, because it would take roughly 7 years and a budget in the high millions.

ur so right lol. thats funny, i mean everyone wants the game to come out, with the exceptions of a few people. but i think if square is really money hungry then they will just pull that weapon out when they need it. first off, we all know how EXPENSIVE it would be to remake that game. the game was HUGE, so many side quest, so much talking, MUCH more than final fantasy's as of late. To voice over all of that would be insane. i think their would be twice or more than the amount of scenes Xenosaga III had, and that game had 8 hours of scenes.

this is why i think square doesn't really want to remake the game. i see a port alot more likley on the psp, with just updated graphics like Crisis core quality. but all of us people just wish for a ps3 version which we all know would be way to hard.

first how the HECK u gonna make good gaphics with that HUGE world map, and make the characters not giant outside of world map??? second, all the dialog, 3rd the battle system, (well that should be easy for square) but yeah its gonna be alot of work, i mean square said if they remade it it would cost millions, and hundreds of employee's to make the game in 5 years....thats crazy lol.

i hope the tech demo was the start of their production on making the remake.

its hard to believe the rumor as square has alot on its plate with FFXIII & verus + crisis core etc etc...

also at the square party they had a baord to post what remake ppl wanted to see and FF7 was all over that...more good news that this rumour is true

every three weeks. You really think it is gonna happen? That is their ACE. They will wait till the company is broken and no one cares (which is sure to happen once they flood the market with remakes like they are doing in the next two years).

Wait...a Konami insider? Even if it's a SquareEnix insider, I would still have my doubts since it's a rumor, but a Konami insider??

I'd rather have FFXIII come out sooner, rather than SE start another project.

Well if this is true 1up was right then I will be thrilled and can't wait to play this game. I never played seven only eight and the next ones that followed so this is great news to me if it is true.

This game is what made the Playstation 1. Regardless of what any Xbox fanboy says it is a wonderfull game and would sell alot of PS3's. he reason is because this game is one of the greatest games in history. Even Xbox fanboys in my school will agree to that. If a gamer who had owned FF7 for PS and saw this remade version for PS3 and they have so many memories with 7 then I do believe they would buy this one. One of my most memorable games of all time is the original Zelda. And let me tell ya, if they remade it with the cheap story and everything but enhanced the graphics and sold it for the wii, I'd buy a wii in a heartbeat.

Think about wine, It taste better the older it gets! Like many classical remake games, FF7 remake/ FFTremake psp. It's just asking more Fans, an Gamers to relive a great game with HD graphics. I hope they also remake FF8, Clouds tight, but i think Squall a bit better if your counting how many hits they do on there limits! Cloud=16 onmislash

I'll definetly be buying this as well, FF7 is a classic. If they do remake it i hope they add to the story a bit more with extra scenes and such to make it a little different tho

If this is true, it will make me unbelievably happy. If not, I will feel like crying...not really, but you all know what I mean. I would be very, very excited to see this news confirmed. Not getting my hopes up...trying not to.

Here's hoping. There's just too much pointing it out. Plus it wouldn't look too difficult to do. The story is there. Everything is designed. It just needs a makeover. Given the fact that there's a remake department and that there was the remade scenes in the PS3 tech demo and the beginning of advent children, it just seems more and more likely. As said previously. I believe it's not a matter of if. It's a matter of when.

I didn't play this on the original Playstation, but I did buy the steam version after hearing about the amazing mods that are available. Square Enix definitely made the right decision to re-release this game on multiple platforms decades after release.

I am still wishing for the day Nintendo releases the original Pokemon Red and Blue on mobile with online features.

Edit: I am also looking forward to the day Square Enix ports FFX to mobile.
