The main thing keeping me from buying a 360 is: The Hardware and Most of the 360 biggest games coming out on the PC. And then when you add in the fact that most games are Multiplat., there really isn't much incentive for me to buy another console.

Having both the PS3 and 360 is great, but if you have both a Great PC and a PS3, you can play most of the games out there. If most of the Xbox 360's biggest games weren't on the PC and had more reliable hardware, I would probably already own one.

LOL, this idoit didn't even spell Gran Turismo and Jak and Daxter right, and FAILED to mention other quality PS3 exclusives like Valkyria Chronicles, Metal Gear Solid 4, LBP, inFamous, Killzone 2, Uncharted, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, etc... the PS3 has PLENTY of games. The argument that the PS3 "has no games" is OLD.

having both is great,but if you had to get only one,id say get the ps3 cause it wont die in the first year lol.

if you have a decent to great PC and a ps3 your pretty much good to go...
most 360 "exclusives" are on PC as well,so that leaves very little incentive to purchase a 360 for a select few games.. and the massive hardware failure doesnt help either.

if you want to play the ps3 Exclusives,you have no choice but to own a ps3 (or play it on a ps3)-

If i was just coming into this gen, having never played either console, i would definately go for the PS3, and thats coming from a big 360 lover. The free online is going to swing it for a lot of people.

are xbox fanboys delusional? they only say this because xbox 360 came out 1 year early, ofcourse it has more games in their library.

then SONY was late in sending their dev kits and software support to developers (atleast their system is not rush), that's why you thought that there's no PS3 games. but in reality PS3 early owner adopters waited only 6 months and after that tons of quality game was released in the system....and its a FACT!

i was so busy playing my PS2 games during those 6 months as i haven't finished all of them (June 2006 - July 2007):

why would you pick the 360, because that's the one, among the two that has you paying for everything the PS3 offers right out the damn box (it's a no-brainer). Unless you are willing to pay extra, only one system is giving you the full experience at no additional cost.

PS3 FTW! MGS4, Ratchet, Killzone, God of War, LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted and MAG.

No doubt what the best choice is if you only get to have one. But the best is to have both ofc.

Sold my 360 after it broke for the 4th time. The sad thing is that I sold it to my friend and after 6 month it broke a 5th time. Have 2 PS3's now. 1 PS3 fat 60gig now 250 in bedroom and 1 SLIM in living room. Bravia sync is nice.

You just have to look at 2009 and you know what console is the better choice. The one with a game in almost any genre or the 1 that released it second halo game in 1 year and the definitive(giggle)racer of this gen.

If you have the money, just get both. Best choice.

I have a family and a busy job I probably get only a few hours of gaming in the weekends.

I had to make a decision, and I have never been comfortable with the PS controllers so the decision was made for me.

The best choice is the one that your friends own. Play with them. It makes gaming that much more entertaining.

imho people should not buy the 360 elite they should wait 5 years then the price will come down to £30 then it will be worth the money.

Even though the 360 is the machine i play most the PS3 has some exclusives everyone should play. Can't wait for uncharted 2!

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

So now there's certifiable proof that Ryan was in fact "fired", as opposed to when it was first announced that he "retired", in order to save face.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
