U2 will be great like U1 but nothing else.

The graphics are spectacular but other then that the game isn't trying to do anything special.

Not as big as MGS, FF and so on.

I don't really agree with the story criticisms. I'm pretty damn sure Navarro is dead and the brief interplays between Eddie and Nate were enough to give me the impression that the two were longtime nemeses.

Length was the only serious criticism you could lodge against the first game and even then games like COD4 and Halo 3 regularly get passes for criminally short campaigns.

After playing it at E3, I sincerely doubt that it'll have any outstanding flaws. Sure, it'll have some things that a few people won't like, but they won't be things that will make it "fall".

This game will be fantastic. I wonder why they don't make articles like these for modern warfare 2 or ODST but they always go for the PS3.

a game like this needs some anti hype...come on =P you can't hype up a game and expect NO questioning.

I have NO doubt this will be one of the best games EVER, but then again, it will have its flaws =) and no best place to refer to than its predecessor =) still, greatness is greatness!

There's an upper limit regarding how long you can make a game like this. The pacing is such that you can begin to overdo things if you have non-stop action and spectacular events for an excessive amount of time. You don't see Hollywood blockbuster action films exceed the 90- to 120-minute mark for this reason, and it's the very pacing and feeling of those types of movies Naughty Dog is aiming for with the Uncharted franchise. The true "length" you need to be concerned with in Uncharted is how many times you enjoy playing through those incredible set pieces, which was quite a few times for me in the first game (2 full 100% completions plus several dozens of hours since then). I imagine I'll spend as much or more time with Uncharted 2 as any other game released this year.

In addition to everything that was great about the original, we now have online multiplayer and co-op, which I played extensively in the beta and can confirm they are superb. If you're a fellow Gears player like myself, you should have no problem transitioning to Uncharted 2's competitive multiplayer after you get used to people jumping off of signs to stealth kill you or dragging you off a ledge head-first to your death. It was a lot like Gears competitive but with better graphics, less gore, and the addition of jumping and climbing tactics, which took some adjustment in my strategies. Co-op was incredible; I was really impressed with the pacing of the action. Very intense, but not overwhelmingly so.

Yeah there will be lots of falling you will be getting pulled of those ledges, such a satisfying kill almost as good as a boot to the face when kicking someone who's climbing only hrs to go woooot!!

Uncharted one was awesome. I greatly preferred it to Gears of War because there was just so much more to do. It wasn't a one trick pony and it had good length throughout. A lot of people compare it to Gears or Tomb Raider, and it was a bit like both of those games though I found it to be better in many respects However, I've always thought it was like those games and ICO as well due to the quality of the puzzle platforming in the game. And the wave rider driving sequences were much better than the one short driving sequence in Gears one.

The one thing I didn't like about U2 from its E3 presentation was the addtion of co-op play like re5 and Gears which I can personally do without, but Game Trailers TV's special on the game as well as hearing that the co-op wasn't going to take that much away from the game left no doubt with me that this will be yet another 9 to 10 game from Naughty Dog.

It usually takes me a week playing pretty solid for 3 or 4 hours a night to finish a game.

I dont die alot, that I know of. I play my own pace sure, but I'm just thorough. I look around alot. I sneak when I can. I savour.

This is probably why I dont care about online, I play my own pace, but surely these people who say they beat Uncharted in one sitting (not saying it cant be done, or is even hard) must not be stopping to smell any flowers.

Sorry, call me slow, but thats not the way to play a game, in my book anyway.
Especially if you've been waiting for it for 2 years or more. Why speedrun through it. Stop and admire guys, you might be missing something.

I don't believe anyone beat UnCharted in one sitting. There was just so much to see and do and savor. If they did beat it in one sitting, then they must have sat there for twenty + hours with cheat codes or a cheat sheet with them.

Instead, I feel that the people that say it is short are trying to knock the length of the game when they probably haven't played it and are trying to dig at it because games like Gears on the 360 don't have any more than a 10 to 12 hour story mode.

1. how the h3ll are u going to finish it in one siting at "7hrs" when u dont even go looking for everything im on my 2nd run still looking for all the treasures and try to get all the achievements for the guns and stuff like that.

2. ok yeah that makes perfect sense lets add in some more useless plot lines eddy raja obviously were partners before maybe a few years back because they said that they used to play poker and stuff because of how drake was a bad lier. on the second part, they needed to help each other out because if they did not they would of killed each other or the Spaniards would of killed them and really how many other movies/books/games/history have done this? 3 kingdoms history lines have plenty of this.

3. obviously navarro is gonna die after being tangled up by a rope and being pulled by a what 300lb statue or something into the ocean thats completely idiotic of the author no matter how u want to look at it even if he does turn into one of those monsters he'll die because of the lack of oxygen going into his lungs. and about the statue ill assume that it was destroyed by like an earthquake/ landed back on the island because of a typhoon, tsunami, huge wall of water going into the island. and the animals must obviously not be able to get affected seeing as how birds and stuff were not changed into those hideous monsters

I have to hand it to Xbox360Elite. He is really committed to his blind hatred. Even Mart admits that Uncharted 2 is worth a purchase.

They can ask all those hypothical questions all they want, but at the end of the year, the reality is this: Uncharted 2 = Triple A title, if not Game of the Year.

Absolutely a big impact on PlayStation but I'd say leadership is the key factor. When leadership changes so does the studio. Leadership is so important for the counties success of a developer.

I wouldn't mind Sony to give us a remaster of the trilogy for PS5 and finally releases it on PC, or even remake Among Thieves.

It was such a well made game, you could tell how much love was poured into it.

Such a shame Amy Hennig got forced out and never got to be there when Nathan Drakes story ended.

One of the best ps3 games of all time imo. The adventure I felt in that game is still one of the best I've ever played. They did amazing with MP as well, god I miss it.

U2 set the standard for PS exclusives, and a standard for how stories were told in SP games in general. The seamless transitions from gameplay to cutscenes, fancier camera work, cinematic feel in in-game set pieces, organic voice acting/line delivery. Devs can deny it all they want but everybody was trying to be U2 after it's release. I prefer it over U4 even cause it's a much more straight forward game in its genre.

Final fantasy 7

From the very start the train sequence was wow… one of the best most memorable opening i can recall.

I love UC2, beat it many times on PS3, and beat it once for PS4, played tons of multiplayer as well. Most important? I wouldn't agree. A game that cemented the entirety of the PlayStation branding against its competition, not just a single company, would be more important.

Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo. Or if you want to count GTA III since it was a temporary exclusive and propelled PS2 hardware sales beyond what anyone could have ever imagined. After a single year on the market, PS2 took over nearly the entire console marketshare to itself.

Absolutely is. It made uncharted 1 look so mediocre. It also set a bar so high, not just for gaming, but for Action Adventure games. I played the MP religiously and made some amazing friends through it. I especially loved mercing the ND devs.

Hopefully ND comes back swinging with the next game release. They sure know how to make quality storytelling
