IGN: Batman: Arkham Asylum Review

Batman: Arkham Asylum is the greatest comic book videogame of all time. This is an adult Dark Knight story that is well-told, packs some truly fun gameplay elements, has topnotch voice talent, and feel like it's part of Batman canon. If IGN had to nitpick, they wish the cutscenes looked better as they can distract from the tale and that the AI was a bit more responsive, but those are tiny flaws that shouldn't distract from the big picture. Rocksteady nailed what Batman is supposed to feel like. Fans, rejoice.

For a second there I was like, A little late there huh IGN? But I see this is the PC review; hands down the best version of the game.

HA same here I was like " Didn't they post this already?"

JonnyBigBoss6091d ago

Most PC gamers don't have a controller for their PC. That coupled with the exclusive DLC makes the PS3 version the best.

Major_Tom6091d ago

If you think Medium textures, total lack of AA and MANY OTHER POST PROCESSING EFFECTS OMITTED, than ya, totally worth Joker Challenge maps. lulz.

himdeel6091d ago

...that is all. You cannot argue the power of a pimped out PC to play a game and have it looking nasty.

Elven66091d ago

The only PC gamers who have a gamepad for their PC's are the ones who actually use it, the rest just game withe mouse and keyboard. The Joker DLC is good and all but all versions are going to get some DLC shortly, coupled with the fact that the PC version can run at insane resolutions.

Not to mention the modding community!

This is just a rehash of the console review, and the video is for the PS3 version. Only at the end of the article it has a sentence saying the PC version has nicer graphics.

Anyway I compared the PC demo with the PS3 version and the PS3 graphics hold up pretty well. This is definitely not always the case.

BTW this game supports the 360 controller on the PC, and it works great!

Playing the PC demo, I think I prefer keyboard and mouse for this game. The mouse just makes things easier and more intuitive to me. For me, I prefer a gamepad when the game is third-person set in a large world such as Ratchet & Clank, but in a more closed environment game like this, I prefer KB&M.
