They've made like 4 games on the DS, one of which (this one) has an unbelievably huge amount of stuff in it exclusively ON THE DS. How is it that they all of a sudden don't care about DS gamers now and there's no incentive to buy it? They made the game for the system and it's an exclusive.

I can see if they hyped it up and canceled it then brought it out for another system, THEN you might have a point. But with that attitude you're exhibiting, if everyone acted as you did then 5th Cell would have been better off making it on another system since apparently you won't support it anyway. The scope for this game and the fact that they were able to even pull it off is nothing short of awe inspiring regardless of the platform, and it's sad people don't see that.

Lord knows there are a lot of people who want the game and are willing to get a DS for it, or wish it weren't JUST on a DS. It's a swan song for their DS games, but who knows what they'll be able to do later on.

why should we care what they care about (yes i know...)

You see the game do you enjoy it ? want to buy it ? Then yes you buy it .

I dont see the point of deciding that over anything else but the merit of the game alone , we are not in bank investments or buying some future here , just one particular game .

"Hey great game pals! but you're leaving the DS and it's not cool , despite giving us at least one last great game , so no i wont buy it!! "

Well as I said as soon as people learnt who they were they're leaving the DS alone. I'll use an analogy, it's like someone in highschool hanging with the geeks and then abandoning them when they're popular.

There's also a lot of game people wish were on other systems than the DS because they hate the DS irrationally... that doesn't mean much.

I'm sorry that I feel an obligation to support the developers that keep supporting you after you've supported them. I was all for this game and wishing it was massively successful until they said they weren't going to make any DS games any more and it's something they only said after E3 and all the awards.

EDIT: @Baka: Yes I do want to support the game and I will be buying it legally but no I don't think it's cool. We've obviously fulfilled out use now and they're discarding us.

Speak for yourself . I bought one game for it's quality and that's exactly what i had . There is nothing wrong with supporting a dev that consistantly pleases you or got an actual franchise established on a set platform ... but it hardly seems the case here .

And your sense of entitlement an analogy dont really work imo . They never pretended they would forever be on Ds unless i'm mistaken . So what if they want , as an exemple try something new with new tech from HD consoles ? or the wii ?

Yes, I did know about them before Scribblenauts, I knew about them because of Drawn to Life and Lock's Quest. Did you know you know about them before E3?

They're free to try stuff on the HD consoles and Wii, I'm not bothered about that but they said they "MIGHT still do DS game" but "that's it for original stuff."

In other words even if they do keep supporting their fans on the DS(of which I don't consider myself one) they're not going to try...

EDIT: Also Baka we've discussed the whole hate for Square Enix thing before and you understand why people are mad(as do I), it's the same principal?

Also just answer this, would you prefer Scribblenauts to be on platforms other than the DS? Because it's not as powerful as the other systems?

No i didnt know them before the first infos on scribblenauts .

And i dont see it as the same thing at all . Square was very fidgety and kept lying over it's official position on each console .

I got 2 very precise issues with square :

- regardless of platform , they've mostly released FF rehashes wich are quite good while they often released mediocre new games .

- They keep saying they support the PS3 , and yet they got nothing to show for it , until FFXIII . hell if it was a problem of hellish develoippement , they could have easily restored some faith by releasing quite few ps1 ones classics on psn ... but zilch nada , they gave ff7 and vagrant (in jap) and that's it .

Had SE been honest , like Scribblenauts dev actually , i wouldnt mind them switching platform . People forget they never belonged to Sony to begin with ... they dropped Nintendo , then went to Sony .
And in the end does my anger toward them means squat ? no i'll most likely get FFXIII december 17th ...

I'm getting some hint that you're turning this into some sort of "you dont mind cause you dont love the ds" tone , unless i'm paranoid ... and i'm not liking it .

So let's make some things clear here :

- i've no intention or never had one of buying Scrriblenauts or playing it anytime soon . Why ? well everyone else i know is in love , so i'll have plenty occasion to try it and make up my mind . And because i have more pressing thing to buy on ds and psp , i'm even late as i neglected a bit both platform lately .

- I prefer home consoles , and always will , but i still very much enjoy portables ones . Hell this generation , if not for them , i woudlnt have find good jrpgs , given most japanese devs frilosity toward next gen development .

And to answer your question , no i cant that i want or dont want scribblenauts elsewhere . it's stupid anyway , the game is only designed with DS in mind ... i can't see it being as good elsewere , even with motion controls .

Again i do know them before scribblenauts ... however i've seen quite a few articles , interview and videos ... and it was obvious to me that they arent in love with the platform , or actually any platform , but loves to tinker with their own concept and ideas .

Who knows if they next idea would work on ds , psp or even montion less consoles ? We dont .

And once again , my whole argument against you , is that i find immensily silly that someone wouldnt buy a game he apparently loves because he wouldnt get a sequel or a next game on the same platform .

My issue with them is that they only said they weren't going to make any more DS games after E3 and after everyone knew about them. They never lied but it doesn't seem "honest" to me. Can you not see where I'm coming from? if when they announced Scribblenauts they said it would be their last DS game I wouldn't have had a problem. It's the fact that as soon as they got publicity they decided to drop support.

The reason I was asking about the fact that it's the DS is because I know you don't hate any of the systems, but I think you've made it clear that the DS is your least favourite in the past. You even said you prefer other systems there so that is obviously a reason why you don't see a problem with switching to other platforms.

Well they have already actually said that there will be no more original stuff for the DS so I'd wager that their next concept WON'T be on the DS.

I don't love the game, it looks good and I want to play it(and I've said I'll be buying it) but seriously if all support stops after that what's the point?
