PSP Firmware (v6.00) Update

Hi everyone, PSP (PlayStation Portable) firmware update (v6.00) will be available soon. This is a minor update, but here's quick head's up on what to expect.

- For those of you looking to customize your XMB (XrossMediaBar), a few new colors will be added under the Theme Settings. These new theme colors can be used on PSP models 2000 or after (PSP-2000, 3000 and N1000).
- A security patch has been added.
- [Network Update] has been renamed as [System Update].
As always, we look forward to reading your feedback.

...With the PSPGo about to hit stores I really cant believe Sony did not inject a lot more functionality in the XMB. For instance, playlist support would have been nice!!!

Imagine a policeman directing people away and stating "move along, nothing to see here" and it pretty much sums up this update.

This update is absolutely worthless to me. (I have a 1000model)

think I should "open" this PSP or sell it and try to cancel the DRM on it.

might get a 3 000 later, because as mush as I find DD kind of useful for handeld I wouldn't buy a PSPgo because not every game is on the PSN and, do I really wanna buy the UMD's I already have in digital form?

PSP 1000 is the best one anyways ;)

a PSP Go, but I decided that I'd rather have the option to run UMDs. You cant even put up to 32GB in your PSP 1000 (or 2000,3000) for around $100. I went ahead and got a blue PSP 2000 for $129.99, so adding 32GB for $100 (free shipping) would put me at less than the cost of the PSP Go with double the memory. What really sealed the deal for me, was the pricing of "UMD Legacy" games on the PSN. Why would I want to pay so much for these games if I could get the disc version used for cheaper? I'd probably use PSN to download titles that I was planning on buying new (GTPSP) and also for downloading movies/TV shows.

I did pretty much the exact same thing. Daxter bundle: $130 + 16 gb memory stick: $90.

I don't like how Sony's done very little to support the Go before launch. Where are all of these downloadable games we've heard so much about? And what about the whole issue of what people are going to do with their UMD collections if they want a Go? I'd hate to buy a Go and find out that all of the games I want aren't available. At least I can get 'em on Ebay if I have a 2000.
