your comment tells me you hate MS because well, you wanted to jump on the band wagon because your life sucks, nothing seems to go right, and hating something you have no real reason to hate makes you feel better. you more then likely blog about your life, and the little things you do during your lunch hour.

also, I don't suck at linux, if I did you think I would have bothered with any of those systems. I used linux for a project I had to do for my college courses, I used it for 2 reasons. A. IT WAS FREE. B. IT WAS SMALL. other then that it was almost pointless.

the only reason people like linux is because its free. if it cost money no one would use it. and the only reason people don't like MS is because they started using more and more DRM.

Uh huh... Microsoft totally ruined my life. Now I cry every time I think about the day they ran over my dog, raped my sister, and stole all of our underwear. I am filled with so much hate that I must attack everything that has to do with them on the internet. Ironically doing so by using Windows 7.

I agree with you in some aspects, but there are a ton of "stupid" people out there... the ones that get themselves infected. If I could, I would like for those people to use a "friendly" version of Linux with just the bare essentials - Ubuntu on netbooks come to mind.

Like you said, if MS only released W7 with FF and adblock+/noscript & malwarebytes/spybot... things would be such a better world for us. Unfortunately, W7 will still be attacked and users will still be infected with the common cold, simply because the same people from my first sentence will have completely no idea how to use spybot and malwarebytes. They will also be the same people to enable ads, turn on global scripts over the frustration of Noscripts, and click yes to every popup.

I know people in life that are like this. They got frustrated at firefox. They preferred where the bookmark button was in IE. They didn't like Noscripts. They liked IE. They clicked Yes! even after many times of telling them to close the suspicious popup. These very same people are the ones that later complain their Windows OS is slow, and that bootup/shutdown takes eternity. These very same people wonder why a blank page pops up at the upper corner of their screen from time to time, or why a popup for an Internet Virus scanner pops up from time to time asking them to pay $15.99 - and some actually pay for this.

If i could, I would rather much prefer the majority of these people switch over to Ubuntu and accept what that OS offers. Sure, Ubuntu, Linux, MacOSX, will eventually get hacked, infected, raped, and defeated one day, but before that time comes, at least the majority of those people can live the next 365 days without ever calling CSR or the family computer-geek to fix the user-generated-content that pops up from time to time - most of which is probably pr0n.

Yeah, but the thing is those computer illiterate people will be missing the things they like to use in Windows anyways. So it's a dilemma either way. If they can't stand not using IE, think how they'd stand using another browser and OS, lol. It's just annoying to see people bashing Windows 7, for no real reason other than the things caused by it's own success.

Use what OS fits your needs. For the majority of the world, due to Windows mass development support, it is Windows for them. For those of you who don't play graphics intensive games on your computer, or do professional production for 3D and Film. But still have good general computer knowledge. Then sure, Linux can be fine for ya. And for those of you who fall into that Linux category, but who also prefer to support a totalitarian company and pay ridiculous premiums, go for OS X.

I agree. For now I think with Win7's case [well in my situation and opinion], it'd probably be best for the avg consumer to hold off on a new computer loaded w/ Win7 or hold off on upgrading. Win XP is still kicking and from an article a few days ago, seems MS is happy market share of XP is dwindling. I remember when Vista wasn't out yet, there were many sites praising the preview builds and hyping the OS up. People would download the builds and check it out themselves. Low & behold, Vista comes out and it was the most craptastic operating system of the millenium known to man. Now I definitely enjoyed using the Win7 beta, I wish I could get a final copy for $10, and I think there are some features in Win7 that I'm glad are there [simply because they are variations of OSX & Ubuntu gui mods that make OS multitasking divine], but I'd still recommend to average joe to hold out when retail release comes. I'd wait til all the bugs and quirks are weened out. Been butthurt by Vista before and afraid to get a second round ala Win7 since in some parts of this world, history repeats itself.

As a Mac user strictly for Aperture & FC, I have to say that Microsoft isn't the only bully in town. There are a lot of Apple elitists out there, heck a bunch of them from AppleInsider, and they sure love those 'tard "I'm a Mac" commercials.

Now I also understand there are a lot of pro-PC users that are anti-Mac and just hate anything-Apple for no apparent reason. Most of the time they just hate the whole MacOSX haven't ever tried using it. Some of the times they've only touched the surface of the OS and didn't give it enough time to understand why there is a circle of people that enjoy OSX. I have to agree with what someone said on another forum, that MacOSX and Windows are operating systems that perform the same functions and can do the same routine things, just that the approach is different.

Both companies are dirty. Just that Apple capitalized on the computer fashion trend back in early 2000 when it was retardedly hip to have a rainbow-colored iBook, and thought they finally grew the balls to throw those "I'm a Mac" commercials and get away with it for long.

I HAVE to have Adobe Premiere and Photoshop; without it, I can't survive. But I have to say, my programs run a lot better now that I went from Windows Vista to Windows XP-64.

Rendering is faster, I can finally preview my animations since the GPU isn't being hogged by the OS, and everything is a lot snappier. Startup time is pretty much nonexistant too, since this is a Core i7 920 computer.

Oh yeah. Ram requirements are about a third compared to what Vista asked of me. I'm sure Windows 7 will be a lot better than Vista, but like most OS products it'll take a few years to fully mature. If the memory footprint and CPU requirements are the same or better than XP-64, I'll jump in.

But dissing Linux? Not the best decision, especially when it's FREE.

Funny thing is, you really can't trust sales people at any electronic or computer stores because of this kind of thing. Do your research on the Net, and don't listen to store sales people. They are looking out for their bottom line, not yours.
