Normally i would agree with you,but if uncharted 2 is like the first one,they already have my money.

It's Uncharted with better graphics, multiplayer, co-op, and an expansive story.

Anyone's whose played Uncharted 1 is pretty much sold on Uncharted 2.

I never said it would suck or anything, I just think that with everyone yelling GOTY maybe we should just step back and see what happens. I still have to finish Uncharted :( I loaned it to a friend who just bought a PS3 last week.

Hey, if its anything like the original it will warrant many play throughs. Hell, Uncharted is the only game I have platinum for and I loved every minute of it.

Uncharted 2 will hopefully have that same, fun gameplay that just begs to be replayed. I dunno about the multiplayer, you could be right that its just tacked on but I'll make that judgement when the multiplayer demo is released.

in Uncharted for the longest. But I made a leap of faith and bought it and enjoyed it immensely. The only gripe I had was the fact it didn't have multi-player because Gears got me into 3rd person shooters with a cover system along with online. I played through it like 3 times, twice after they patched the trophies in and every other thought was "Damn, I wish this had multi-player...". I was getting ready to sale my PS3 when a couple of days later Naughty Dog showed the online trailer and I said, "Nah, I think I'll be holding on to this a little bit longer..." as fate would have it.

I barely touched Uncharted when I first got my PS3 back in '07. But I started playing and thought "wow, this is awesome". The story is quite lengthy and really interesting and when Naughty Dog patched in Trophies it made people boot up the game again.

What you said about the Gears multiplayer though, granted I haven't played much of the competative multiplayer (I usually play Horde) but I rarely see people use the cover system, people charge in with shotguns or just chainsaw people. And for a time it was quite unplayable and it can get unbearable lag. Hope Uncharted 2 won't have that problem though:P

I owned the 1st one. Finished it and never touched it again, there was no reason to.

You could be right,but i really don't think so.If these uncharted fans are like myself you played it over and over because it was fun as hell and you wanted all the trophies.To me uncharted was what made me keep the ps3 when i got it.I got the PS3 60 gig when it came out for the FF games because they only ever show up on the ps but thats not the case anymore.I'm a huge finel fantasy fan.I was left with few good games then i picked up uncharted.It's a great story which i'm sure the new one will be as well.PS3 looks alot better now a days but it still lacks that online that the xbox owns at.

I'm quite the gears fan, I've played the uncharted 2 beta and I can tell you it's much much better that gears, it's the best third person shooter multi player game I've played, it was crack to me and then it was gone:(

I have to agree with you on that one, I was playing 2 and a half maps solidly for a month I played it more than the MGO beta. Its got alot of great ideas in it wrapped up in great graphics and unrivaled presentation.

This isn't about your pride in your console, or the fact that you can't play this game.

Look at things objectively. Last year I couldn't play FO3, but i still cheered for it to be GoTY 100% and i don have if for PS3 yet, i am waiting for the GoTY edition to come with all the DLC =)

I still praised a game i didn't have (had played it on friends Xbox 360 for like....a month, got halfway) because it was good, and i didn't spite it because i couldn't have it =)

Objectivity is a powerful tool =) And...its a good contender, no one can say its 100%, just stronger possibilities due to what we've been shown. =)

Do you want me to give you a list of links from 2006 when every gaming (and nongaming) outlet was against Sony? When excellent games for PS3 were getting 6s and 7s from the reviewers? When Fox and NBC were spreading misleading news against Sony?

I'd like to think that some of us, the hardcore fans of Sony and PlayStation had a role in reversing that situation. We were on the forums trying to educate people; we were criticizing the Xbots and Wiitarded journalists on their misguided opinions, about how they hurt sales and developers of good games by telling people not to buy them, only because they, themselves, had another console. This holds true until now, many of the journalists who claim that 360 and Live are far better than the PS3 don't have, or don't use, PlayStation 3s.

There was a time when d!ckheads (Cliffy and some journalists) claimed that the PS3 controller sucks, just because they haven't ever picked one before.

I, for one, had emailed many reviewers and journalists to politely point out the flaws in their judgment. Sometimes we had to resort to accusations of extreme fanboyism and bribery (we were right many times).

We made GameTrailers stop being extreme anti-Sony, MS fanboys. Remember, those guys were making comparison videos of multiplatform games and were deliberately distorting and lowering the resolution of the PS3 games.

As you can see, this sentiment is changing slowly, thanks, in part, to us.

I highly value creativity, loyalty, intelligence and honesty and I can say with confidence that when it comes to these values, Sony is ahead of many companies and definitely ahead of the competition. That's why I want companies like Sony, Toyota, Ford, IBM, Adobe... to succeed.

I know there are a lot of stupid people, especially among fanboys, who defend a particular console or product because they only have that one. Not me.

There are many more things I want to say and can give examples and back them up with facts but for the sake of not making this longer than it already is, I will stop here.

As for Microsoft fanboys, you can ask them.

I can only think of one reason "Consumer's Remorse". Basically, both sides are trying to make the other feel that their "purchase" was a total waste although the reality is that this console generation provided more in a few years than the previous generation did in 5!

Correct, but you have to understand that the competition now has never been so close and so tight before. 90% of the PS3 and 360 games are multiplats, now the defining moment can only be separated by exclusives. Look at all the debates raging nowadays, PS3's graphics vs 360's graphics, Blu-Ray vs DVD. You didn't have those questions in the previous generation.

Back then,PS2 had all the games, all the exclusives and not even the 2nd place was halfway to the PS2's success.

You have to look at it in another angle my friend. Back then Halo (or was it Halo 2) proved that the joy of FPS gaming could be done in a CONSOLE. If I remember correctly at this time, there was a mass "internet cafe" rage where LAN/online parties of counter-strike and other popular FPS were such a trend. Microsoft KNEW this was the direction the "next" generation gamers are headed, HENCE defining the 360 as THE console that would meet the needs and demands of the consumers who still have the "internet cafe" rage all in the comfort on their home. Don't believe me, check out the highest selling games on 360!

PS3 on the other hand is still following the on-going trend of the previous consoles. Single-player platform gaming, some with multiplayer features, but they act more like "perks" than a mandatory content. Look at the games: Uncharted, Rachet & Clank, Heavenly Sword, inFamous, etc.

And now I ask you, what does the "modern" gamer WANT in this generation. The answer: Online. Look at all the MW2 prestige sellouts done by the PS3, that shows that many are willing to go to that direction where some of the "hardcore" gamers like me put priority on games like Heavy Rain and The Last Guardian.

"If you're REALLY doing it for the games then vote with your wallet. Buy what you enjoy and don't buy the rest."

I do, that's why I'm waiting for Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2, Katamari Forever, and other PS3 exclusives that are coming in the few months.

Interesting but not entirely true, I'll tell you why. . .

Mass Effect, Dead Rising, Banjo-Kazooie, Fable II and III, Blue Dragon 1 and 2, Ninja Gaiden II, Ninety-Nine Nights I and II. All these X360 exclusives are very important to the X360 and they all have one thing in common, just like the PS3 exclusives you mentioned, they are single player only or single player intensive. I mean just look at the sales for Prototype, if your views are to be believed, it wouldn't sell much on X360...but it not only sold well, it sold more than its PS3 counterpart so clearly your statement isn't nearly as clear cut or true as you'd think.

My point? That both consoles cater for different tastes. There are ALOT of X360 users that wish so badly that InFamous was on 360, myself included, along with beauties like Heavenly Sword and GoW III, thats why they draw so much attention and hate(fanboys only) from this side.
I would be livid if Microsoft winning meant that ONLY the online multiplayer games would be catered for next generation, but thats simply not going to happen. Just like if PS3 were to win it wouldn't mean the end of the online multiplayer craze.

As for your other points, graphics comparisons have always been around, Blu-ray/DVD was CD/Cartridge, this generation isn't as unique as you think. Even if X360 wins, Blu-ray WILL be the standard next generation. Nothing about the last generation could have helped predict the crazy success of the Wii in this generation.

Those are valid points and but allow to explain it in a different approach. Take a closer look at the single-player exclusives on both the 360 and the PS3. Compare the multiplayer oriented games like Killzone to Heavenly Sword, or Uncharted. And compare the Blue-Dragon, Mass Effect to Gears of War and Halo. See the difference? Take a closer look at the sales. Now you can tell which demographic the console is dedicated too. This doesn't reflect on how much a "multi-plat" game single/multiplayer sells, rather I'm pointing out what types of gamers buy their prefered consoles.

Agreed, but would the majority put emphasis on single-player games as opposed to multi-player games. They pay $50 a year for a reason you know?

I never said that the online multiplayer would die out but the possibilty of single-player "oriented" games will. How can any single-player game compete with the likes Call of Duty or Halo if everyone prefers the online aspects of the game? The closest to take that position is MGS4, but it's not even half of Halo 3's sales.....

Must be in a different environement we live in. We didn't compare the PSX to the Saturn back then, we only compared current gen to "next-gen" consoles.

And no, my post was NEVER intended to justify fanboyism. I hate them both left and RIGHT! I only responded to your original question: "What happens when Sony or Microsoft wins the generation?"
