The Valhalla Knights series has traditionally been on the PSP and Eldar Saga for Wii is the first game in the series to appear on home consoles. Eldar Saga is an action RPG in a similar vein to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Players begin the game as a human who must try to rebuild alliances among the dwarves, elves, and halflings.

Digitally Downloaded writes: "Often the Wii was criticised for its perceived lack of quality third party games to play, but it's not the case at all. The Wii had some excellent third party games to play, it's just that some of them required a little digging to get to."

This series is destined to be quickly forgotten in the west (it actually has a strong niche in Japan), which is a pity, because there’s a lot to like about these games. They're not for everyone, but JRPG fans looking for something a little different would do well to try these out.

Neocrisis: Continuing a bumper year of releases, Rising Star Games has confirmed Eldar Saga's 2010 release date as 17th September. The game will fill a niche in the current games climate by appealing to Wii owners who are interested in the RPG format.
