A string of recent decisions and announcements might be leading to Capcom's emergence as a PC gaming powerhouse...

mrv3216119d ago

The community and MMO's have long been computer saviours...

From WoW to Doda, to L4D2 mod to Everquest.

since when PC Gaming needs a savior ??

the only problem that PC gaming got is piracy IMO

Pandamobile6119d ago (Edited 6119d ago )

Well, they're already members of the PC Gaming Alliance.

And PC Gaming is doing fine. People need to stop pretending that it's dying. It's been 'dying' since the like 1989...

sabestar6119d ago

as long as valve keeps feeding me with pc games, then I don't see my pc gaming habits dying, for me at least.

Pandamobile6119d ago

Yep. Steam is growing faster than anything right now. The only place it's going is up.

Da One6119d ago

Yeah, the only notable missing dev there is Blizzard... And you can just use their nearly-as-good Blizzard online service to redownload your games.

Pandamobile6119d ago

Well, Blizzard is part of Activision now, but yeah, Blizzard games are still missing. Maybe we'll get SC2 or D3 on Steam. Who knows.

M337ING6119d ago

It won't happen, given Blizzard is developing Battle.net 2.0 to compete with Steam's services.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing40d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9240d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit40d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing40d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9240d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
