PALGN: Dissidia: Final Fantasy Review

Dissidia: Final Fantasy is likely to sell a lot of copies, all because of its insane amount of fan service. Fans around the world have been waiting for such an opportunity with Final Fantasy, and now they have it. However, regardless of the years of nostalgia, plethora of famous characters and crazy wet fanboy dreams that this game can muster, it doesn't protect it from being disappointing and somewhat of a missed opportunity.

Moments of the game are very enjoyable, but they only happen in spurts, and make you wonder why most of the time you're simply preparing to have fun. It's Multiplayer will likely be an amusing romp between friends, and the mix and matching between FF characters in Quick Play will likely make some fans squeal, but that's really all that Dissidia has to offer: something for the fans to smile about, but nothing much for anyone else.

Ive been playing dissidia for more than a week and i have to say its a very good game 7/10 but of course it has its flaws..for example they could add more HP attacks instead of BP attacks theres only a lil HP attacks and most rr the same ones until u reach like level 30..also they couldve put a couple of more worlds and also ALL THE BAD GUYS SUCK IF U PLAY AS THEM!! except Jecht. and Firion is Horruble.. Cloud is the best..but its a good game

Care to disagree. Firion is nice char and bad guys need some mastering. You play story mode with good guys, you learn to play them and somewhere after few battles, upgrades etc you realise which is good for you. You don't really have this kind of comford with bad guys, hence the misunderstnding they suck.

cloud is the best ?? his story was "WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOR ?" but badly written .. cloud story was pathetic ..while he is a decent fighter in this game .

Hey guys, I just bought a psp with the Dissidia bundle...the game is pretty cool. Just wondering...how large of a memory card can I put in my psp? Is there a max or can I put as big as they make into it?

GuruStarr786097d ago

I've seen a 32gb memory stick used in a psp that works.....it is actually two 16gb micro memory sticks in an "adapter".....If your not familiar with the adapter or the micros (the micro memory sticks are actually what sony is using exclusively for the psp go) then check them out on ebay.

As for Dissidia, I love the demo, I can't get enough of it and I am going to purchase this game.......I see some of the drawbacks, but they aren't so bad that they would deter me from getting this.....And I'm not even a final fantasy guy (I've only played VII and have never beaten it).

But this game seems to fit portable gaming very well....short fights, quick action and the ability to be able to just fight a few times and put the game down is nice.

Thanks for the info JQM, I appreciate it.

I wanted to get a PSP for Peace Walker, Birth By Sleep, and Valkyria Chronicles 2 anyways. Figured might as well get the Dissidia Bundle right now.

I really like it so far, but I do understand with the frustration with the spike in difficulty sometimes. Since I just got a PSP, any recomendations for games?

and just get it over with???

Cloud Strife: Most Iconic Figure of the Final Fantasy Universe. The FFVII remake better be only on Playstation 3. So it'll be everything that Square Enix wants it to be.

Although it doesn’t have Dissidia in its title, the Theatrhythm games are part of the franchise since they are spinoffs and feature Cosmos and Chaos

So there’s more than 4 games in the Dissidia franchise

jamiethepayne3027d ago

True, but I wouldn't really count them as part of the same spinoff series. Plus, if I added Curtain Call to the list, none of the Dissidia games would have a fighting chance XD

Start working at home with Google! It’s by-far the best job I’ve had. Last Friday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 5 weeks past. I began this 6-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $85 per hour.. Go this web and start your work.. Good luck.... http://www.fl-y.com/3r8h
