Mark down one more game for this holiday season. Runic Games has just announced that Torchlight will be launching in late October.
Developed in large part by the team formerly attached to Flagship Studios' Mythos, Torchlight is a downloadable action RPG similar to Diablo. Runic Games promises that it will set itself apart from other action RPGs with its "intuitive, approachable interface," level randomizer and suite of powerful development tools for building and sharing levels.
For those who want to check it out, it will be shown in Booth 182 at the Penny Arcade Expo. Torchlight will be available on the PC for $19.99. Look for it on October 27.

Now, if you, just like every other gamer, thought immediately of any of the Diablo games when you read that, you're probably not alone.
The thing is, the Diablo franchise has been synonymous with dungeon crawlers since 1997. But while the Diablo titles have long been considered the most popular dungeon crawlers, they're far from the only ones that are worth playing."
