Sparkplay Media is working hard on the release of their upcoming free to play MMO, Earth Eternal. The game, which is currently in closed beta, is unique because it can be run directly as a downloadable title as well as a browser based gameplay experience. Recently, IGN had a chance to check out this new Western based MMO which places a new spin on a number of traditional genre elements.

Outblaze and TurnOut Ventures announced that the free-to-play online game Earth Eternal is now in open beta and accepting all players. The beta will run for the next few weeks to let players explore the revamped massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) while helping to identify any issues and bugs before launch.

2010 was not a remarkable year for the MMO industry. While no major MMOs shut down, certain shutdowns certainly did make history for their remarkable exit. Three MMO shutdowns - plus one other MMO that seems to be out of commission long before launch - made their mark on history last year.
