Batman PS3 Exclusive Batman Arkham Asylum

Keir Edmonds, Group Community Manager, Eidos Interactive writes on the Playstation Blog:

"Hi, I'm Keir, you may remember me from such official forums as Tomb Raider: Underworld, Kane and Lynch: Dead Men and now Batman Arkham Asylum. Yep, I'm lucky enough to be Group Community Manager at Eidos. Batman: Arkham Asylum (which is out now!) has pwned my waking hours (and some of my sleeping ones) over the last few months. It's been a genuine delight to work with Rocksteady's masterpiece (in case you haven't seen any reviews, check out IGN 9.3/10, Gamespot 9/10, 1up A-, Gametrailers 9/10, Eurogamer 9/10, gamespy 5/5) and I'm here to tell you about the epic PS3 exclusives…"

^^ Lmfao

Xbox 360 Owners get big expansions for amazing games like Fallout 3 which increase the gameplay by hours and hours, (aww dont worry droids, its coming, but your used to waiting and being second best arnt you?)

and HUGE expansions like the lost and damned and the ballad of gay tony, which add a new 10 hour story as well as there own multiplayer.

And PS3 owners?..they get..

umm, well! some time trial thing and..well...
.......

...........

ahahahahaha

They bring attention to it *superior version of Batman AA* well, how about 99% of every other multiplat being superior on the 360?

Tony-A6103d ago

@Javier

I've never met someone that was happy a man named "Gay Tony" would be coming to their console.

And second, it's by payment. That's what happens when you pay loads of money to have things. Good luck getting thru the 10 hours of the biggest disappointment in the GTA series without RROD.

Seriously, are you still playing GTA?

PS> We get the Fallout 3 DLC for free... I would wait for that.

rohail886103d ago

we have games while u wait for ur dlc!

talltony6103d ago (Edited 6103d ago )

I would take the Agent exclusively any day over 2 "Damn" "Gay" dlc's lol...Get it!?

That is SWEET!

I hope this comes out as a TV ad, that could really push the bar..

Free Space with the game, thats even got me tempted..

FreestyleBarnacle6103d ago

Been playing it and I have to say it's worth it without the free space. That's pure gravy.

StanLee6103d ago

A Bat Cave Home space is an amazing idea. The Challenge Mode on the other hand; that's pretty weak. It seemed like an after thought to add value but it's pretty repetitive and boring.

Sarcasm6103d ago

"It seemed like an after thought to add value but it's pretty repetitive and boring. "

It's more fan service than anything.

Trust me, real fans of the Joker will want to hear, play, see anything related to Joker.

Just like real fans of anything else.

At least it was free so people who didn't like it, doesn't feel ripped off.

Redempteur6103d ago

it's a nice space ..there is not much to do BUT it's free ..

Personal space are meant to be decorated .
Put furniture in it !
Anyway it's free ... it comes with the game ..it's a great thing .

Unfortunately I am arguing. I borrowed my friends ps3 copy as I wait for my copy to arrive and must say this is not what I expected at all. I have been in the bat cave and while it is cool to see the batmobile and other bat goodies, you cant do anything in it. Be nice if you could actually get in the batmobile and take it for a spin or have some really simple interactive games to play with the batarang but....nope.

The joker freebie is exactly that. A JOKE. I am serious to you ps3 diehards. If you think it is nice to have then you have no concept of what the phrase "last minute" means. The game as it seems was to far along in development to have them go back and change elements of the actual story to make the joker a playable character. That would be the the ultimate homage to joker/batman. You take turns playing throughout the game in a cat & mouse way.

As it stands you are limited to only challenge modes which are nothing short of just simple target practice. What good is playing as him if it bears no difference to the game itself? It is basically a last minute add-on ubisoft made a deal for with sony. Plus, the fact it wasnt even on the disc and was made seperate tells me it will come out for 360 anyway. I was really looking forward to playing as the joker in the game itself. Setting up different traps to thwart batman.

Free is free so like the saying goes. You cant argue with it. You can sure express that there should have been more substance in it with the hype sony was touting about it. In the end it is no different than the golden gun dlc for gears 2. If you have it or not doesnt change the outcome of the game.

The game itself is excellent and worthy of a sequel and better yet, a joker based spin off.

darthv726103d ago

whoa..my bad. Dont know why i was thinking ubi. I really should have said rocksteady as they are the real talent behind this great game. Thanks for calling me on that.

My rant was a bit harsh. I am picky about the use of "exclusive" and how it gets thrown around so much. I guess the joker isnt that bad but still it would have been worth the ps3 purchase if it was more meaningful than it is.

I dont have to play those levels or use the batcave homespace if I dont want to. At least there is that choice.

sunil6103d ago

Joker is far more difficult to play in the challenge rooms than The Bat (atleast for me)

The superior version on the superior console that only does everything.

PrimordialSoupBase6103d ago

Home has to be the most pointless thing conceived since Second Life.

Hell, and you can't even grief in Home.

ElementX6103d ago

Good grief, Charlie Brown!

nycredude6103d ago

It's not even half as pointless as your comment.

It's FREE people. You don't like it don't use. However lots of others like it so they use it. CHOICE.

PrimordialSoupBase6103d ago

The cost of something, or lack thereof, doesn't change its quality.

Free or not, there's nothing to do in Home.

HDgamer6103d ago

Thats your biased opinion. There is plenty to do in home.

Rigmaster6103d ago

Yep, that's why there are now over 8 million gamers on Home it...

Because it's 'pointless'...

jjohan356103d ago

I'll be honest in agreeing that I think Home is boring and pointless. The only area I like in Home is the bowling alley and pool tables. Personally I don't think there are enough lanes and tables.

mastiffchild6103d ago

Oh yes. The "Home is boring/pointless" argument #3,456,789! While it may not be your, or indeed my, cup of warm brown stuff doesn't change the fact that it's ALWAYS busy and makes Sony a boatload of casg already with more and more devs wanting a piece of it.

When more useful services appear it might appeal to the likes of us more than we imagine and the possibilities are endless-with universal game launching, 3D trophies in your appartment and more activities like classic arcade games and comps the interest might come from core gamers like ourselves but to discount the value of Home to it's uses and to Sony would be a little silly, imo.

Also, why do people feel the need to moan about it when it's free AND if you don't like it you NEVER have to see it-unlike my Live Avatar which I never wanted, don't like and CANNOT escape from every time I turn my 360 on! I hated making a Mii so hated making the 360 effort even more! Seriously, can anyone tell me a good reason why MS won't allow us to opt out of having these avatars? If you feel like I do you aren't likely to buy clothes for it and all it srves to do is stop me turning the 360 on as much as I used to! Besides this lack of choice is totally unamerican.
