That Gaming Site writes: "Entropia Universe is a unique gaming experience. On the one hand, the virtual world is a gaming paradise where players can easily forget their daily worries and become absorbed in the beautiful, yet often treacherous, realm of Entropia. On the other hand, the game is a financial juggernaut – the kind of currency playground that attracts wealthy investors, extremely dedicated gamers and those out to make a buck in any way they can. And make a buck they do: Sweden based Mindark, the creators behind the Entropia Universe, posted a 2007 turnover of a whopping US$400 million."

From Xfire: "Remember when you'd buy a game and... that was it? You got the full experience by purchasing the full product one time. "
Damn, Train Simulator is costing the big bucks. That game is kinda fun but not if you purchase all the DLC.
"All the DLC - Train Simulator 2020, $10,145"
No wonder we're witnessing an increasing number of ports from PC to consoles, you can't nickel and dime PC owners with all their mods over there, lol
"Legatus Pack - Star Citizen $27,000"
Ouch!
Planet Calypso - Entropia Universe, $6,000,000
WTF...?!

Living, breathing, multi-world Entropia Universe continues to bridge the gap between virtual and real with its newly launched virtual stock exchange. Earlier this month, Crystal Palace Space Station, the first company to be listed on the market, saw all of its shares claimed in less than 48 hours, marking the first time in the game’s 16-year history that shares in a privately-held estate were offered to the entire playerbase of Entropia Universe.
Entropia Universe is the largest Real Cash Economy Massively Multiplayer Online Game in the world, offering players the ability to participate in a unique virtual world where they have no monthly costs.
A Cry Engine powered MMO is one thing, the fact that this relatively unknown MMO can make $400 million a year is insane! I don't even think Acclaim makes that much money from their MMO's.
I've noticed when it comes to big budget MMO's, if you're not making them pay whether its for small things or even just the monthly fees, then you'll quickly flounder and fall out of the lime light fast.
Nice, I have to check this game out.
