The game was confirmed as a canonical installment in the Metal Gear series the E3 2009 Sony Press Conference, and will be written, directed, and produced by Hideo Kojima. Set in 1974, ten years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and four years after Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. The game is set in Costa Rica, with Big Boss as the central character once more. When an unknown military force invades Costa Rica, the nation must rely on Militaires Sans Frontières, the mercenary army that will eventually give rise to Outer Heaven.

Over ten years after its release, does Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain still impress? Jump Dash Roll returns to Snake's world for this Brutal Backlog.
I don’t think I’ve ever quite experienced an unfinished game that was slapped together with duct tape and construction paper to be sold as a finished product, basically making you replay the same missions and include a story that clearly was missing so much of the plot, like I did with this game.
I’m actually shocked that it doesn’t get calls out for this more.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD have been delisted from digital stores without warning.
Stupid headline. Should state that they are being updated or discontinued. This makes the crazy people that only read headlines think it some kind of conspiracy to take away peoples already purchased games.
If you want to all of a sudden own them now and haven't played them yet because a remastered is coming out, shame on you. I can't believe people are complaining about this 15 years later when it was bound to happen anyway. "A new remaster is out, quick, I'd better buy the original from the shop."
Gamers: "Physical? who needs physical? everyone knows that digital online games are the future. stop living in the past. we don't need no stinking disc drive"
Same gamers: "How dare the delist a digital game that I own!!!!"

A quote from Hideo Kojima brings up the notion of the wavering quality of modern day gaming, and a deconstruction of what constitutes a good game and artistic value follow suit.
this is definitely gonna be top seller.
Why? Even on the PSP Kojima will produce another masterpeice, And will be one of the standout games on the PSP. Have some faith! Either that or settle for MGS:Rising
I'll be picking this up over the other.
Metal gear!??
