Metroid Prime Trilogy Review at CheatCC

CheatCC says,"If you're a returning fan, you may be disappointed with the lack of bonus / original content. Still, the widescreen presentation and the motion controls do breathe a significant amount of life back into the titles. As such, this is likely a must-buy for any Nintendo fan, regardless. Having access to all three games on one disc is a luxury you probably can't afford to pass up."

And it won't even run on my f***ing Wii. Apparently I need to perform a system update which requires my Wii to have an internet connection. Unfortunately my internet is so crappy that I can't connect any system to it, so I can't play Trilogy. >.<

Really? That sucks. You sure it isn't the dual disc problem? If you've got a copy of Smash Bros, try booting it up to make sure.

Onto the review...it's low. I get CCC's ranking system puts anything above a 4.4 as a "must buy," but that translates to a score of 88 for this game. If three AAA titles for $50 isn't an "A" score, I don't know what is.

And this made me laugh:

"Nevertheless, all three games look great, not quite The Conduit great, but certainly some of the most impressive visuals available on the Wii."

Are you kidding me?

I mean...I like Conduit, and it has some nice touches here and there, but there is NO WAY it looks better than Corruption. Nothing against HVS, but they just don't measure up to Retro studios. Most studios don't.

That's why it got a trailer last year

Maybe it will happen after Metroid Prime 4 launches. Put Metroid Prime 2 & 3 on Switch and Switch 2.

Metroid Prime: The Story So Far - Everything You Need To Know Before Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

"Metroid Prime Trilogy, the Wii compilation of Retro Studios' first-person take on the Metroid series, launched in North America on 24th August 2009, exactly 15 years ago.

In honour of that sparking release (well, a little less sparkling than the originals in some places due to a few missing effects), we're taking the opportunity to recap Samus' story so far in the Metroid Prime games while we wait for the fourth numbered entry..." - Ollie Reynolds | NintendoLife

my most anticipated game.
just started playing the Trilogy on WiiU again (love the motion controls with wiimote)
amazing series!

Neonridr644d ago

if they aren't going to remaster all 3 titles prior to 4, it would have been nice if they just gave us a bare bones Switch port of the Wii U Trilogy. Thankfully I own that so I can still replay all 3 before 4 comes along.

all 3 titles remastered would be awesome.
i would still miss the motion controls though :(
