At Gamescom, the guys at PCGH had a hands on test with Starcraft 2. While physics and animation were rock solid, some of the textures looked futty according to the preview. Also, heavy usage of physics caused stuttering. Hopefully, the Blizzard guys optimize the game further on.

DS writes: "Like many people who grew up with their eyes glued to their TV screens and monitors, in my youth, I used to think that playing video games for a living was the best job in the world. Little did I know that getting to the point where you can earn decent money playing video games takes a tremendous amount of work and sacrifice, and there’s a good chance you’ll fail even if you give it your all."

Optimization and performance is usually the last thing on Blizzards mind up until the later stages where the product is booked for retail to manufacturing.
Then again it's blizzard, stunning cinematics, poorly designed graphics otherwise.
Programming is done pat, the developing.. ehh could use work. Reminds me of Rockstar.
One of the reasons the game was delayed was because of performance issues.
