Quantic Dream: We can better Heavy Rain visuals

Speaking to VideoGamer.com at gamescom last week, Quantic Dream CEO and founder David Cage revealed that there's still much more to be seen from the PS3.

Asked if his PS3 thriller Heavy Rain was pushing the console as far as it can go, Cage replied:

"Well, you need to keep in mind that Heavy Rain is our first title on PS3. It's not the second or third generation of games on the same platform. We've just discovered the platform right now. So yeah, there's plenty of room for improvement I'm sure.

I can't imagine any better! Wow, Quantic shows us what the PS3 is capable of and it is the closest thing to a wet dream.

Lifendz6108d ago

And other times they kind of look funky.

When they demo this game, not a single PS3 went all YLOD. Talk about solid hardware!

Can surely talk to these guys. Seriously, I'm sure you armchair fanboy development experts would love to downplay what Quantic Dream has achieved here, and what they can continue to achieve with the PS3 hardware.

Go ahead! I want to be at the round table with you dipsh1ts... ;)

Hahaha and the list of exclusive Triple A movie experience blockbusters continues on the PS3 (Only on PS3) while the shiatbots have to contend with worthless crap like 2 hour shadows of bots or another expansion pack for 3 year old game.

Its a no brainer why shiat60 doesnt sell anymore.

Saaking6108d ago

I thought you liked to brag about netflix bot.,

SonySoldiers6108d ago (Edited 6108d ago )

Its obvious that Heavy Rain uses more polygons because it doesn't have multiple character AI, realistic physics etc. Crysis use your pc power to do a lot of things not just Graphics in an open World environment. Crysis being a huge open-world FPS with crazy view distances and Heavy Rain being a slow paced adventure game.

Un-educated gamers are disagreeing...

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

BLAKHOODe2009d ago

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

sourOG2009d ago

No. Some games are like movies.

medman2009d ago (Edited 2009d ago )

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.
