Poised to counter?
Sony has kicked Microsoft into last place in both Europe and Japan.
The PS3 is humiliating the 360 like no other has ever before in a single generation with Killzone 2,Uncharted 2,GT5,Heavy Rain,Last Guardian...
Blu-Ray has kicked Microsft's HD-DVD to the trash heap of failed formats
Sony's unparalled mastery of console design and manufacturing now has the PS3 down to 300 dollars - significantly more powerful graphics hardware, Blu-Ray, HDMI 1.3, silent, internal power supply, easily swappable off the shelf cheap drive upgrades
Sony's gigantic 20 first party developers are cranking out AAA exclusive after exclusive while Microsoft's anemic 3 first party developers have to be propped up with DLC, PC ports, and multiplatform titles for Microsoft and the 360
Yeah, watch out console world. Here comes Microsoft!
IDK all they have is price now and even that is fizzling away.
Sony has pretty much owned the video gaming industry since the first Playstation, hell if u look at the sales of the ps3 its actually doing better than the xbox360 at the same time period (dont tell fanboys though because sales only matter when talking about Gears of Halo). That being said i dont think the 360 is bad but i think if the Ps3 and 360 would have released on the same day that the Ps3 would be ahead of it in terms of sales but no use talking about what ifs at the moment. All i hope for is next gen MS actually tries fixes their hardware failure rates becuase if not i dont think ill bother with MS anymore.
is all about the market share for Microsoft.

They've been on top this whole time with strategy. Microsoft has forced Sony to price drop or SKU swap with a total of around 5 or 6 price adjustment since the PS3 launched.
Sony has to downgrade the PS3 every time Sony adjusts the price while Microsoft matches the move each time adding more and more value at the same time not downgrading the console.
I fail to see how the war is just now starting, it's been going on for years when Microsoft stayed in 2nd place while Sony was the leader for two generations.
LOL PS2 has sold around 150 million and now PS3 is in last place and it's Microsoft! that needs to fight! as if they're in last place? hahahaha
