Yeah XBLA would cry like a little baby. We still get horrible lag in tiny little games of Halo 3. I don't think XBLA could handle this lol

LMAO. You need PC and copy of Serious Sam 2 for this mate. You'll be lucky to get 16 players in Serious Sam HD on 360.

Meh, nothing that hasn't been done already. Unreal Engine 1 was capable of nearly unlimited bot counts with a simple mod/patch. All that mattered was if you had the computer to handle it. Today, that's just about everybody since it's so old.

I don't think that's a fair comparison. For example, on the Original Xbox there was Delta Force: Black Hawk Down...you could get 50 players on Live. But now, anything that has 32 players, or more, on consoles is seen as amazing. Times change, and this is more impressive than Unreal Engine 1.

Well I signed up for the beta and was told I need Serious sam 2 to play it with the latest patch! But wait there is more...Serious Sam: Forever beta is just the add-on!!! *GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!*

Yeah, 'Forever is the community mod which remakes SS: FE in SS2 engine which will be for free.

Meanwhile Croteam is actually making Serious Sam HD in the SS3 engine.

Serious Sam III comes after both episodes of SS:HD are out (FE and SE), but will apparently use the same engine as SS:HD, so think of SS:HD as a great, technical demo whilst breathing new life into a cult classic.

Man I'd love to play with that many bots! 200 is overkill though, but would be a fun out of no where thing to do. Man, I remember dang Perfect dark on the 64 with their "Advanced expansion pack" bots along with Conkur's Bad Fur Day. 200 bots would put some serious load on a cpu though.

200 isn't a lot, I haven't seen anything on this game and I'm not being negative for the same of it but 200 isn't much at all as people have said.

The number has little to do with the amount of power it require it's infact

number*complexity.

If the A.I is complex and advanced running at 200 bots if impressive but it's easy to get 64 bots on PC with fairly little power usage.

I will certainly check this game out some more.

Man, I want to agree with you on "Dare I say that 2009 be Year of the Serious'ness?" because in a perfect world (in which we are not) if gaming went the direction of " AWESOMELY INSANE / INSANELY AWESOME -- for no reason at all -- " then I say Sam needs to be the ruler of the free world.

Serious sam is so ruthlessly old-school in terms of how it plays; and it was fun for the sake of having fun. What most people don't know is that original serious sam was a painfully under-budgeted shooter title made by a group of ONLY 7-10 guys in a garage in croatia.

Still, it was one of the best games in 2001 and it was given it's (much deserved) props when a number of top game publications awarded it GOTY awards as well as being voted most likely to have sex with the moms of the kids who played it. What an achievement!

i see the words "serious sam" but my brain is telling me i'm reading "fun... because fun is fun ... with rockets."
