and lol @ the old bullshots of SC... this article fails

Jmlopezbr6108d ago

They shouldn't even compare them... They are completely different...

Chubear6108d ago

again, what does it matter? PS3 gamers get to play both.

ABizzel16108d ago

Both games look great, I just need to see more of Splinter Cell

likedamaster6108d ago

Try MGS4 with Splinter Cell Conviction. That's actually an exact match!

randomwiz6108d ago

no that doesn't work either. MGS4 single player is just too epic

aaronisbla6108d ago (Edited 6108d ago )

What are you talking about? Splinter Cell is still exclusive to the 360 isnt it?

Edit: Ah ok, perhaps he should have mentioned that or worded it better, he made it sound as if it had lost its exclusivity, one could say the same thing about Uncharted 2 " who cares, Pc or 360 owners get to play both"

My internet was down for a bout a week, thought i might have missed something haha

sonarus6108d ago

Yea but also coming out on PC

ThanatosDMC6108d ago (Edited 6108d ago )

Sam Fisher's butt vs Old Snake's butt

FamilyGuy6108d ago (Edited 6108d ago )

Talk about a landslide.

I liked the last comment, he sums up the UC2 beta pretty nicely. Covering, blind shooting, climbing, punching, kicking, pulling off ledges, weighted "flag" that can be thrown, ect. I can't wait for the full game.

mastiffchild6107d ago

Personally I felt thar SCC moved it's release date to avoid this particular comparison. U2 looks amazing and is coming off a first great game whereas last time out SC stank up the place and Ubi will want a clear critical run to reboot the series and the worry of U2 getting better reviews near release for both is a risk they didn't need(I'm not saying they feel their game's inferior, or that I do just that they don't want to take any chances after scrapping a version and jeopardising the success of the work they, and I believe MS, have done).

As exclusive third person actioners there was the probability of them getting compared like this and while I feel they aren't that similar the comparisons would still have happened.

IMO they goth look really good with U2 having a bit of an edge purely in looks and because we know more about how it'll all play and so far they haven't put a foot wrong and SCC, while what we've seen is impressive, is more if an unknown quantity right now.

Also after being part of the U2 MP beta first time round SCC will have to be good to top it on that score but with a heavier emphasis on puzzles in U2 the similarities aren't going to be great in the SP games

Having said all this SCC is the 360 game, along with ME2 that I'm looking forward to most and U2 one of my most anticipated PS3 exclusives too so as things stand we're all going to be full of win!.

pain777pas6107d ago

WHY COMPARE THESE TWO GAMES? STOP WRITE ABOUT THE GAMES THEMSELVES AND STUFF WITHOUT COMPARISONS ITS GETTING OLD NOW. GAMING IS FUN. ENOUGH WITH THE FLAMING.

Yipee Bog6107d ago

but I do agree with what you yelled

ShadowCK6107d ago

Splinter Cell has had an Multiplayer experience wheres Uncharted 2 hasn't not. What makes you so sure Uncharted 2 is going to have the dogs bollocks Mulitplayer?

The multiplayer element of Splinter Cell was an all new experience in videogames that everyone loved. It took the original Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six, added cool new gadgets and jams them together. It was a wonderful experience.

FamilyGuy6107d ago

... The BETA, Where the Fvck have YOU been? The beta was so much fun and the co-op multi-player was great too, every thing about this game screams quality. That's what makes us so sure.

aaronisbla6107d ago

I honestly see someone who wasn't in the beta. Fo Realz!

I'll play both on PS3, but Uncharted 2 will clearly be the best. PS3 exclusives always break expectations and push the PS3 further. Uncharted 2 GOTY 2009. And yes, SCC will be coming to PS3. It's quite obvious MS payed for timed exclusivity. If it doesn't well it really doesn't matter.

Defectiv3_Detectiv36108d ago

I just can't understand how people are so psyched for SCC. The game has been delayed like 4 times now, and the last 2-3 sequels ubisoft churned out in this series were mediocre out best, hence the reason they've waited so long to produce another one.

Personally, I think it looks kind of cheap how you can just pop out of a door and take out like 3 enemies automatically, and I'm having a hard time understanding what's so revolutionary about this game - it looks a lot like the other ones.

SnuggleBandit6108d ago

While uncharted 2 will DEFINITELY have the upper hand, how can you even compare a game that has had a beta,(although it sounds like these guys didn't even play it) to a game that has had LITERALLY NO inormation on its multiplayer modes?

PURE SPECULATION but Uncharted 2 will rock a$$

talltony6108d ago

what u mean? This splinter cell looks alot different than all the other splinter cells. I will like opening a door and taking out everyone in the room without breaking a sweat. The marking system looks cool as hell and you cant over use it which is great. I am really looking forward to this splintercell alot actually.

topdawg1226108d ago

Are these guys serious? Uncharted 2 easily takes the cake in graphics, story, gameplay, and multiplayer

commodore646108d ago

are you kidding?

I have watched all the HD demos on the net and it seems readily apparent that while UC2 is an admittedly fantastic looking cartoon game, SCC raises the bar for gamers globally in the graphics department!

Let's all take off the fanboy goggles, relax, and make the world a better place, huh?

Shane Kim6107d ago

You comment made me sh!t my pants commodore.

Sonyslave36108d ago (Edited 6108d ago )

WTF Ubisoft didn't even release any info about splinter cell conviction multiplayer so how the hell are going to compare multiplayer.

Saaking6108d ago

Uncharted 2 83%
SCC %17

haha! PS3 exclusives are always better. Beside, SCC will end up on the PS3.

cyguration6108d ago

Because this says something about the multiplayer.

http://www.totalvideogames....

jmare6108d ago

Yeah, he says it's there. And that's it. How can you compare anything to, "It's there, but I can't talk about."

frnkyl6108d ago

Ok seriously how could they possibly compare the 2? Neither if them are out yet... >:(

wxer6108d ago (Edited 6108d ago )

wrong post

Saaking6108d ago (Edited 6108d ago )

These games are way too different to compare! Climbing up a ledge and shooting a guy in Splinter Cell is so much more of a unique experience than climbing up a ledge and shooting a guy in Uncharted!

how the hell is it more unique? It's the same thing except SCC makes it easier for you.

jmare6108d ago (Edited 6108d ago )

This article is bullshit. How can you compare a game that people have had a chance to play against a game that very few people have played. I don't even remember Ubisoft really talking about MP. I'm sure it's there, they just haven't said much about it.

EDIT: I understand that. It still doesn't make it less any bullshit.

Uncharted 2 Is the Most Important PlayStation Exclusive of All Time

In a list of games that defined the PlayStation 3, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves would certainly be one of the top contenders. The blockbuster sequel to 2007’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune not only received critical acclaim and became a massive hit for Sony’s third console when it was released 15 years ago on October 13th, 2009, but it also cemented Naughty Dog’s future as a developer of cinematic, story-driven action-adventure games as opposed to its history of colorful platformers like Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter from previous PlayStation generations. To this day, Uncharted 2 stands as one of the PS3’s best exclusives and one of the most important PlayStation games of all time.

gold_drake551d ago

it was pretty good. especially the multiplayer

KyRo551d ago

I loved this era on multiplayer games from Sony. People used to call the modes tacked on multiplayer but they were enjoyable. I loved Factions even more. I'm Still gutted that the second one isn't coming out.

-Foxtrot551d ago

Yeah, that one game where it not only has an amazing single player but the multiplayer was also just as good.

A fresh a breath air with it's more "skill focused, less is more" multiplayer in a time during COD fever where every other game with online was trying to be like it.

Shame NaughtyDog eventually did do COD like things with Uncharted 3 and 4, they ruined what made the original so good. It become an over the top arcade fest in the end.

Inverno551d ago

Ironic cause the MP was basically Halo, and Bungie helped on the technical side of things too. MP was more simple back then, I've said this before but I played U2 MP religiously. I sucked at it like you have no idea, but mah gawd did I have so much fun. Can't find an MP game that hooked me like U2s these days. Then Factions came along and while it had its problem I found new religion with it. Agh damn it why did they cancel Factions 2 bruhh.

gold_drake551d ago

i had so much fun too, played almost every night with mates or cousins baha

Relientk77551d ago

It is for sure my favorite game in the series. It's such a blast to play. The train levels still hold up and are fun as hell as well as the entire game.

RaidenBlack551d ago (Edited 551d ago )

Still remember the first gameplay video ... shooting the chasing truck and then the beautiful visuals & details whilst traversing the dilapidated Nepal streets ... perfection
Too bad Sony never ported the trilogy to PC ...

RaiderNation551d ago

I would argue it's God of War.

darthv72551d ago

I'll say, the PS3 really did sequels better than people give it credit for. Resistance 2, Uncharted 2, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Infamous 2... all were better than their initial offerings and still hold up to this day.
