Boogie Hands-on

When IGN last saw Electronic Arts' original Wii title Boogie, it was in an extremely early form at the Game Developers Conference. So early, in fact, that it was just a single concept demo, and it had to be collectively imagined what the final game would end up becoming. Earlier this week, however, IGN's Craig Harris had a chance to visit EA Canada to check out how Boogie has evolved in the past few months. Though it was still not anywhere close to ready for prime time, it at least took on a form that more resembled a playable production.

N-Europe: Boogie Superstar (Wii Review)

N-Europe's Mark Lee writes:

"We remember the first shots of EA's Boogie and it piqued our interest immediately. Not only did Boogie look unique and graphically astounding, but it also promised sweet Karaoke/dance based gaming. It was a shame then that the motion dancing promised by EA fell flat on its face. Karaoke worked well in Boogie yet the poorly implemented dancing model was clearly the section which EA needed to work on. Thankfully when you start playing Boogie Superstar it's clear that EA spent their development time revamping the entire dancing template."

EA Confirms Boogie Superstar Will Not Support the Wii Balance Board

Following the announcement by Electronic Arts of an October release date for Boogie Superstar, WiiBBG has confirmed that despite previous rumors, the game will not support the Wii Balance Board.

According to an EA representative "Boogie SuperStar will not include game play on the Wii balance board. The game will utilize a microphone peripheral for singing and the Wii Remote's motion-sensing technology for dancing, to provide players with a realistic and enjoyable performing experience."
